I'm an engineer in local government who was in a seminar on policies regarding encroachments on crown reserves and private land.

      See why I was trawling OzBargain… :)

Abracadabra Your wish is granted 20% of cds starts Saturday

  • Has anyone else noticed that a a number of the 2 for $20 titles online are not being offered in store? I.e. The Dark Knight Rises and other movies selling for $15.95 on their own?

    • My partner bought TDKR along with TDK from Marion SA in the 2 for 20 bin.

      • Thanks for that….it was probably just the store that I looked through which hadn't marked TDKR on the 2 for $20

        • if it's advertised somewhere, you can usually just take it to the counter and they'll change the price. Or it'll scan at that price once you get there. Either way, worth a try.

        • I've noticed many 'busy' stores do not have most stock or correct pricing. As above simply take any 'non-special' titles to the counter and mention the special online.

I could not find TDKR in ANY Sydney CBD store but dropped into a suburban store and bingo plenty of titles. Grrrrr

        • as a corallary to this; does anyone know how reliable the online store stock thing is? ie if it says there are no stores with stock of a given title, is that really true? or if one store isn't listed as having stock as a title, do they definitely not? cos I've never consciously checked it, but sometimes I feel 'sure' I've checked a title online that hasn't been listed at, say, the melbourne Bourke st store, but then been in there the next day anyway and seen lots of copies of that movie. Which would be annoying, but maybe it's my imagination hah (of they happened to get stock in right after I'd looked online, always possible)

        • +1

I've done some checking in the past on this and have found that generally if they say they have it they usually do. Many many times though they have said they don't but actually do.

  • Does 20% apply to preorders?

    • Not usually

      • +1

Yea that's a shame. Was going to pre-order Breaking Bad :)

  • Herald Sun want me to pay to view their paper even if I try to view a whole page ad grr.. managed to scrape an image from the mobile version though.

    • Pay??? Got a library card? Get it here for freeeeeeee!!!!!!

  • Damn it! I just spent $70 on blu-rays a week ago there! Chances of getting the difference refunded…? It's all still unopened.

    • +2

Should be able to refund them all and repurchased them again. They should be able to refund within 30 days?

      • +2

No i don't think so as JB does not offer a refund on change of mind purchases.

"Please choose carefully as JB Hi-Fi will not provide you with a refund or exchange if you simply change your mind."

        http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/returns/Information/55

        • Though luck bigosmallo…if you paid by 28degrees mastercard you can claim the price diff if you opt in the insurance:
          http://www.28degreescard.com.au/credit-card-features/insuran…

        • +3

That said I'd go and ask anyway. They may do it still out of decency to keep the customers happy.

        • +1

In fact I asked them today and they said yeah sure you can bring the items back with the original receipt and they can refund the price diff.

        • Awesome, thanks zan123, I'll give it a go today.

    • +1

I did this once. I bought some movies and the 20% off was a few days later. I just refunded, went to the shelf, grabbed them again, and purchased. no dramas

  • Is it online too ?

    • +1

Online as well, done it in the past. Online order can also be picked up at the store, saves you 99c shipping cost for each blu-ray/dvd.

      • +1

It might cost you more than 99c in fuel if there's not a JB nearby.

        • +1

Lucky for me there are 3 JB stores near my office.

  • Thank you. Just in time for payday! First time I have money in 2 months and been wanting a Bluray spending spree. Best deal. Eva. #<3 (just kidding, hashtags are for #losers)

  • I'll have to check out the Logitech Home Security - probably still be crazy expensive even at 40% off RRP though.

  • The Dark Knight Trilogy Ultimate Edition is out in time for this 20% off which would make it $96. Has anybody seen it cheaper??

    • Yes on amazon.co.uk, 55 pound last time I checked, need to remove the VAT and add shipping.

      • Thanks, I had a look and it works out to be around $87 delivered but since I'm going overseas soon I might just pick it up at JB tomorrow.

        • amazon UK tends to deliver within 1 week in my experience.

  • Would this include pre-order blu-rays? Would love to try and get Breaking Bad Collectors edition for under $200 with 20% off!

    • +1

Just grab it from Amazon for $162 delivered. The UK has the same blu ray region as Australia.

    • If you click on the link it actually says excludes pre-orders.

      • I asked the question before the page was live afaik.

  • Been wating for these to roll around again. Thanks for the heads up OP.

  • Sweet was waiting on this, anyone know if Ultravoilet has 3d titles? i was looking to get despicable 1 and 2 DVD with UV as well.

  • Oh man, just on Monday I purchased the Back to the Future trilogy as separate Blu-rays (2 for $20) and another movie for the fiancee, now my $40 could've been 20% less!!!

Might have to shamefully purchase more blu-rays!!!

    • I purchased the three movies and the notebook, ahh well.

    • +3

Hop in the DeLorean and go back to Monday. With your knowledge from the future, walk straight past JB ;-)

Hmm, wonder if there's 15% off tablets?

    http://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers/tablet/asus/nexus-7-32gb-…

    $333 - 15% = $283.05

Cheapest I've seen… if tablets are considered "computers".

  • +1

There are couple steelbooks for 2 for $30, works out to be $12 each.
Like Django, Taken 2, Jack Reacher, Bond Skyfall…

  • What's the difference between Blu-ray/ Digital Copy AND Blu-ray ?

      Digital Copy & Blu-Ray = you get both Digital Copy & Blu-Ray

  • How do I get 20% off ?
I've got two disks for $20.

    • Read the title again :)

    • Wait until tomorrow (sale starts thursday, it says).

  • Yep — excludes Apple :(

  • Eyeing a new gps tom tom go 500 with 20% should come down to $194 OW price match $184?

  • Hmm, says 20% off new release games. Does anyone know why they've removed Pokemon X & Y from their online store? Are they not selling it in stores?

    • Only the listed games. (As far as i know)

Pokemon is probably sold out, that's why it's not on there. I know a bunch of stores (EB, Gamesmen) ran out of stock pretty quickly, maybe JB did as well

  • Brings the price of the Soniq 40" FHD LED TV to ~$300.

Those who missed out on the Akai deal have a 2nd chance it seems.

    • Excludes Soniq

      • Damn. It also excludes LG, Panasonic and factory scoop (what ever that is).

Probably should be mentioned in the O.P.

    • That's what I thought when I first saw this :( as I've also missed out on the Akai one.

  • just got jb gc for sales, is anyone in Melb interested?

Don't forget there's also a 2 for 30 running and in the previous ozbargain post about the 2 for 20 notable titles were listed by the OP so worth a read.

Also recently there was a recent $9.98 sale a lot of these titles are not appearing in the 2 for 20 list(weird) and the JB link to the titles no longer works as if the sale is over however most of the titles are still at the $9.98 price so a big thank you to the Ozbargainer who took the time to list all the $9.98 titles in the OP http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/118963

There is also a buy 2 get one free TV sale running and there are some blus listed amongst it unfortunately on JBs retarded website you can't filter by format :(

    • Cheers for reminders and links. 'The Master' is a notable title too though damnit and isn't in that list! ;)

  • +1

    No games?

    • Only a few for 360/PS3
      AC4 $55.2
      BF4 $63.2

      Fifa 14 $63.2

      • Thanks. Was looking forward to gta v.

  • 15% off all TVs?

    • Nope. Excludes Soniq, LG, Panasonic, factory scoop and 2 Samsung TV models.

      • huh, was considering to buy a LG TV, really love their cinema 3D!
my samsung 3D is making me dizzy…
LG has got much better 3D effect and no batteries required for 3D glasses.

  • Wonder if deals could also combine with the voucher that was given when I bought the ipad last week.

  • -2

Does anyone actually check their claim of 15/20% etc off actually stacks up or do we just simply trust them and accept it? Genuine question.

The reason I ask is that I just checked a TomTom GPS. JB price $153 online, which is supposedly "inclusive of the 20% discount". Funny that because the RRP appears to be $179 so their price should actually be at most $144. Caveat emptor, or if you really want the item DEMAND they honour their advertised claim.

    • +4

But the price online right now isn't inclusive because the sale doesn't start until tomorrow … so it should be $122.40 tomorrow during the 20% off sale.

  • +1

Ah, thanks Jippy, that would/should explain it then. Apologies to JBs who are usually pretty good.

  • +1

Heh, I bought a Sony W900 TV a few weeks ago for $2500 from The Good Guys, if JB take 15% off of their current online price of $2288 and I claim RGG's 30 Day price guarantee I'll get about $600 back. :)

    • what is RGG's price garentee?

  • anyone has bought Hisense before?
my father in Shanghai has bought a few and they were great.
not sure about their stock in Aus?

  • not on cameras :'(

  • I'm a collector of steel books, it's shame not manny steel books are in the $2 for 30 range, dispite the price, 20% is better than nothing, must dont know if its cheaper still purchasing from Zavvi and amazon.

  • +1

If you are into euro tv shows French crime show Braquo is in store for $7.98 a season.
Also Great Gatsby 3D is part of the 2 for 30 but is not marked as such in store

  • +1

Star Wars Blu-Ray set at $72 is the cheapest I've seen it around in a while.

  • Went in and picked up WWZ 3d and Man of Steel 3d (both blu ray and 3d) for $47.96

They did a mix and match so both came up as $29.99 then got 20% off.

Best price I've seen, not sure what other titles are in mix n match

  • 30% off car audio excludes in-car AV … great.
