They're a delicacy in Asia, deep fried and seasoned.

Half price by Woolworth standards. At a lot of other places like my farmers market this is more than regular price I think.

    • No idea where these are made.. but just be aware that while they may be cheaper, it might be lower quality or imported from china.

I had some before, apart from Macadamia which is made in Australia of coz, the rest are in Vietnam or Asia countries.

  • Macadamia nuts are more expensive than cashews, so the value of this deal really depends on the proportions of the two. BigW's regular price for 400g of macadamias is a little under $10.

    • According to the packet, it is 29% macadamias, 68% cashews + oil and salt.

    Red wine, cheese and soccer?

Yep, just eaten most of the packet I bought like 30mins ago….wtf! too good.
By the way they are Aussie Macadamias and overseas for the cashews
    Half price.

cashews are most likely from Thailand which has a huge export industry for those nuts.

Hahaha. It took a few seconds before I finally got it :)

Bought some last special. The nuts were fresh and tasty unlike for eg the cheap ALDI cashews which I've found are often stale/old and low quality. Far too much salt on these for my liking.

    • +1

agree with saltiness, i generally mix these with another pack of unsalted almonds or macadamias to bring down the saltiness and make it seem healthier

      • likewise, and only add a little at a time for mildly salty blend.

    • Were the Aldi cashews roasted? I'm wondering if you had the same experience as me when I bought cashews from Coles and also found them stale and soft. I realised then that they weren't roasted so I chucked them in the air-fryer for a few minutes.

      Results were delicious!

  • all stores?

  • Last time I got home brand cashews they were awful. Imported rubbish. My guess is that is why these are so cheap.

    • So my understanding of agriculture is that even nuts are graded, and sold by the grade of nut. So it's only natural to assume no brand nuts is cheaper for the reason it's a lower grade but this doesn't meant they should be stale.

    • Fair assumption Giggles but based on the 2 packets of these we've eaten recently they are a nut above.

  • How did you know I've been craving for cashews and macadamias?!

  • You can get cheap nuts at your local wholesaler. It's usually printed on the packaging of most nuts that are purchased outside of the big supermarkets.

You get much fresher pistachios in most circumstances!

  • Does anyone know where these are made in? I think my mom told me its made in Vietnam.

  • Picked up these yesterday, the normal selling price was $14.98. Doesn't state country of origin, just made from local and imported ingredients.

  • couldnt seen this at wollies spring hill today.

    • try find them on the fresh produce area (ie near fruits), not on the normal shelfs.

    • Yes, they are in the nuts section of the fresh fruit section.
