HP 15" Probook Win 7 Pro @ MLN Online or Instore $599

21

Very cheap probook, nice metal and rubberized finish on these, don't confuse with the pavillion, plus comes with windows 7 pro or windows 8 pro, choose what u want when u boot up.
spill proof keyboard
Good for business or school.
Decent spec for a productivity tool. Also probook warranty is better than the pavillion as it handled by business guys.
I ordered headphones yesterday from them and got it this morning, so delivery is super quick.

  • Decent spec for a productivity tool.

Based on specs, looks overpriced to me…

    • It's a probook not an acer

i just found it for $499 on shopping1 website, this deal is no good

    http://shopping1.hp.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/WFS/WW-USS…

    • It looks like the link you posted is to HP's US website. Not sure if they'll ship to Aus through that site or what the postage would be.

    • +2

From HP US price of $499 USD = $539 AUD and then there's credit card foreign currency conversion fee and international delivery cost on top of that even if they do ship to Australia. I suggest you learn the difference between USD currency and AUD currency.

    • +2

The one for $499 is an A4 processor with a 500 GB 5400 rpm SATA.
The one on this deal is an A6 processor with a 750 GB 5400 rpm SATA.
      Not exactly apple to apple.
And the site you post doesnt even ship to Australia.

A way around that restriction would be to use a shipping forwarder such as Shipito but then that's an even greater cost. Makes this deal from MLN look even better. Local stock and local warranty and free in store pickup.

Yeah Ninjabredman got it wrong to begin with (bit of a doh der moment) this is the HP Probook 455 G1 from HP US which is the model that's on sale at MLN. It's actually $559 USD there = $605 AUD + Shipito (shipping forwarder) fees & freight cost + currency conversion fee. The deal from MLN is so better compared to that.

Oh and by the way OP it's $599.95 not $599

    • ??? It's better spec than the US model from that US site, sits above the $559 USD model, if you change currency add this additional specs and lets not forget GST, the Australian offering is better.

      • +1

Yes the Australian stock laptop has slightly better specs even though the US stock one has the same model. As i said the MLN deal is better.

  • Just a remind it come with AMD CPU that's why cheaper than other probook series. Personally I preferred Intel CPU.

    • Personally I prefer AMD because I'm still (years later) steamed about Intel's sid fiasco and I just like to support the underdog.

But I have to admit it probably doesn't make a difference. For office tasks any modern cpu should work great. For gaming it mostly depends on your GPU.

I'd rather pay a little bit more and go for a horize notebook from logicalblueone like the W550EU with the HD screen

    • +1

$200 is not 'a lttle bit more'. Especially for a machine that comes with some crappy Linux freebie operating system and 128gb hard drive. Yuk!

Your only other post was also Logical Blue related. Hmmmmm

Ahem, LINUX outperforms Windoze everytime. Whenever I get a new compuetr the first thing I do is reformat the drive to get rid of the cr@pware i.e. get rid of Windoze. The only reason I keep a copy of Windows around on just one of my machines is that some games don't run on LINUX.

and 128GB would be for a solid state HDD. True, that is a bit chincy. Although you can get by with 128GB if you're just working with office files multimedia and games really requires 256 or more IMO.

Except when it comes to hardware compatibility support. Windows rules in hardware compatibility.

  • static ice finds this for $589 at Global Computer Group but I've never heard of them before. Maybe MLN might match that…
    http://www.globalgroup.com.au/gloshop/customer/product.php?p…

    • I called these guys at global group for stock they said I can get one from them next year.
      LOL

      • Like what's the point in them even listing it for sale if there's no stock until next year.

        • They do it to make other dealers bargains look bad. I mean how many people check? You just look at the link and that's it. Centrecom have done it for years.
