Sounds ok in princiiple, however I would bet that this won't end up being as free as it appears… probably get tons of junk mail, or cold-calling etc.

I do agree that it might be more of a competition, though…could someone who originally got the Star Trek email tell me whether it mentioned a small number of tix and much promo expected?

Identify theft is happening all the time … once these people have all of your personal details and know your bank, then it becomes a lot easier to steal your identity.
I don't mind answering some questions to help them for marketing, but this is going way way too far.
If you fill in this survey and have your identity stolen then do not complain.

Hmm…well I didn't.
You DO need to give a correct address, as that is where they send the tickets. But you don't need to fill in the survey correctly, you can even use a fake name xD
I'd also caution people against giving away so much information to a third party. The stuff they're asking for is ridiculous. While this is probably a "legit" offer, I do not have faith that this small promotions company would be handling my personal information with anything resembling an appropriate level of security. Not worth it for a chance to win some preview movie tickets.
I don't get what the selection criteria is to be SUCCESSFUL, however I signed up for the Star Trek + Contagious network. Got a few emails saying screening dates changed bla bla bla..etc and haven't heard since.
I wonder how many tickets they actually give away? Like 3?
I got tickets to the Star Trek premiere. The cinema it was held in was packed, though I obviously don't know how many of those were contagious tickets. I've not received any spam or junk mail at this point that I can attribute to them, and they sound pretty legit to be getting advance screening tickets. All they ask is that you promote the movie or cd or whatever they give out and provide them with evidence/screenshots. That'll determine your success at getting future advanced stuff apparently.
Don't think so. Quite a few Ozbargain people got tickets, myself included.

As you can imagine we were inundated with applications for this promotion. Participants were selected based on the following criteria:

proven track record of promotion - with each new activity an equal allocation of places goes to 1) members that have excelled on previous contagious promos (i.e. have provided us with lots of examples of how they have spread the word and have completed their 'end-of-promo' survey on time) and 2) new members that have yet to show us what they've got
Unfortunately you haven't been successful this time but don't be dis-heartened as we have plenty more opportunities just around the corner (inc national preview screening's for what's set to be the biggest film of the year), so make sure you become a fan of contagious facebook fanpage as that way you'll be one of the first to find out about the very latest developments…

:( I didn't get it even though I thought I did a decent job advertising the last time round….bah. Maybe I should have done that survey thing, but was gonna send it off tomorrow just before the deadline, and thought it wouldn't have counted anyway..sigh.
