There are different free gifts from each shopping centre when you buy a certain value on a gift card. The charge to buy a gift card is $1.95 (for the regular red one)
The following are the ones that I know:

  • Free earring from Westfield Chatswood (need to buy at least $100 on a gift card)
  • Free earring from Westfield Eastgardens (need to buy at least $80 on a gift card)
  • Free cookbook from Westfield Burwood (need to buy at least $100 on a gift card)
  • Free cosmetics bag from Westfield Miranda (need to buy at least $75 on a gift card)

Note that some centres do not offer free gift. So check out the website first before you buy the gift card. I am pretty sure the free gift worth more than $1.95!

    I really don't like the Westfield gift cards though. For a start, they charge a fee to buy them and secondly not everywhere accepts them

      The Doncaster Westfield lists Myer as one of the shops that accept it, and when I tried to make a purchase there, the Myer shop outright refused to accept it. :(

      Fortunately I had another shop to visit and did spend that amount, but there's definitely something not right about listing shops and those shops not taking the card.

    I got the Eastgardens giftcard for my mum today, they came with the free earrings, pretty bad quality imo. They are really really small earrings lol!
    Oh and the Giftcards are not accepted at all Coles Group and Myer Stores including Coles, Myer, Kmart, Target, Coles, Tandy etc.
