Thanks OP I got one :). Did anyone pay for the extra year of warranty that the Dick Smith employee was trying to sell me. I didn't get the warranty, just wondering if I should have?

    • +1

an employee tried to sell me one too for $10, knowing that by the time i break mine, xbox one should be of similar price :D

    • Nah, you shouldn't get it as you should be covered under Statutory warranty (ACL) even after the warranty period.

      • Thank you for your reply :). Do you know how long an xbox 360 is covered under the statutory warranty?

        • Sorry for the late reply, but the law's rather non-specific.

An example they give is: A reasonable consumer would expect more than two years’ use
from a $6000 television. Under the consumer guarantees, the consumer therefore has a statutory
right to a remedy on the basis that the television is not of acceptable quality. The supplier must provide a remedy free of charge.

I'd say it'd cover at least 2-3 years, but don't quote me on that.

I bought this $399 more than 2 years ago, and played less than 20 times, so each time is about $10…

    • erhhh

i dont get why i got 3 negs?

      • +2

I guess people think it doesn't apply to them but you have my support. Breaking it down that was is useful to see whether you wasted your money or not. I often do that with buying video games, working out what it costs per hour and comparing it to a movie or something else I enjoy.

  • Thanx op- got one :)

  • struggling……………..hand Slap myself .

  • Got a call from The Pines store to make sure I wanted it 20 mins after I reserved it. Just in time, thanks OP

  • The missus loves just dance 4 on the ps3 with the silly move controller. Will this make a good replacement? No controllers are required for the kinetic thing?

    • Correct you just need someone that doesn't care if they look silly.

  • +1

  • I make an order on 5-Dec (order number is 100131908). The status is pending, so I give a call to Northland shop and they said no stock. So what can I do now?
