  • Thanks! Picked up 2d for $5. Steal. Great movie.

  • also 3d wolverine for $19 and true blood season 1-5 for $64
    monster university $22

  • this has already been covered by the BIg W Sale Post
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/125225

    • The online prices are mostly different to what was scanning in-store this morning, so it's either a 'separate sale', or actually a mistake of some kind:

      Despicable Me 2 Blu-Ray (3D/BD/UV):

      price yesterday: $38
      in-store scan at: $19
      online price now: $9.50

So that's obviously been 50% discounted TWICE.

There are heaps of blue rays cheaper online now big sellers for around $5, but most great deals are sold out already.

Get what you can, fingers crossed they'll honour it…

      • +1

I was in Big W today, it is the same sale, unfortunately their B&M and online stores are seperate. I wanted Pacific Rim and Man of Steel, they were $17 and $19 on sale in store, and I got them for $19.50 delivered from their website.

      • +1

Yeah, A Few Good Men was $8.96 before the sale but was selling for $2.24 (75% discount). Carrrr-razy!

  • +1

    thx, bought
    man of steel3d $7
star trek Into Darkness 3d $7
    Hangover Part II $4.99
you dont mess with the zohan $4.48
    xmen first class $7.98
    star trek 2009 $7.98

    • +3

Both of the 3D movies you purchased are post production 3D, which is not to say they will be totally rubbish in 3D, just not as good as 3D movies shot natively in 3D. It's worth checking this website before making a 3D movie purchase: realorfake3d.com

      • Into Darkness was fine in 3D. Was pointless, but didn't seem weird.

      • +1

I saw Superman in 3D. Rubbish is a pretty accurate way to describe it.

Star Trek was pretty good though.

  • +1

Star Trek Into Darkness $5 http://www.bigw.com.au/entertainment/dvds-blu-ray/science-fi…

    dark knight rises http://www.bigw.com.au/entertainment/dvds-blu-ray/action-adv…

    Star Trek 1-11 $6.48

    Django Unchained $10 http://www.bigw.com.au/entertainment/dvds-blu-ray/action-adv…

Looks like anything released in 2012 is under $10 mainly $8.

  • +2

    Indiana Jones (individual movies)$9.98 each.

    • Missed out on that deal, all sold out online

  • Delivery is $5 and minimum order for pick-up is $40….can we buy in store for same price?

    • +1

if they're in-stock at the store you go to they should be the same price although people were paying alternately 14 or 24 dollars for MOS 3D, online seems too cheap and might be an error so who knows, and that's if they still have any left. Besides, getting to the store and possibly parking is likely gonna cost you most of that 5 bucks anyway…

    • +1

I was thinking the same thing but for $7 for man of steel 3d and $7 for Star Trek Into Darkness 3d I'm willing to pay $5.00 delivery before they are all gone.

    • yeah but at this point it'd honestly be a lot easier if people just commented here now, and that one is buried and this is extremely ltd time only for a lot of this stuff so people will never know in time otherwise

      • i still think that if you upvote this, you should upvote the other deal if you haven't seen it…

        • agreed :)

        • -1

The other post didn't tempt me to click.

  • had dark knight rises in my list but that's now out of stock. got booted out. so keeping it in your cart isn't going to help.
already had the indy set but for those not a fan of say Crystal skull those others are at a great price.

    got these instead.

  • Had a look in store, Star Trek 3d and Man of Steel 3d both $14 so it looks like they reduced the price then took half off.

  • I get that they are bargains but it doesn't make them better movies. ..

    • +2

what do you mean that they aren't better movies? proper blu ray > dvd anyday of the week!

      • +2

I think atlas meant the actual movies..

    • +1

I agree but they make nice Xmas presents for Dad especially. Was going to buy him a couple of blu-rays anyway :)

      • +2

woops argh I just negged your comment when meant to +you. sorry!

  • +5

Forrest Hill was packed at 8am
    Managed to get last
X Men movie limited edition pack (1-5) $30
Hobbit Limited Edition $39 (with statue)
Star Wars $40 (yes it scanned at $40)
Game of Thrones season 1 and 2 $18
and heaps of others at $7 each
Found a few goodies hidden in the wrong place too which was a find :P

All up spent $280 and saved $322 according to my receipt

The blu Ray section was being pillaged and the poor guy behind the counter was getting slammed, i felt sorry for him. He was like wtf!! lol

all the oldies were coming in to buy the LG phones lol one guy bought 8 of them LOL
The box sets were selling out FAST and people were cracking it at him, not his fault.

Glad i went in store, some of the stuff that was sold out online was there for the taking like the star trek box set (i didn't need it as i already have it)

    • +4

Poor guy, I hate stupid people that some how think it's the 15 year olds fault.

Seen some pretty irate people let loose over such trivial crap to some random 15 year old that has no idea what's going on lol.

      • +1

too right. Some people are so rude when it has nothing to do with the poor kid.
        All about their selfish selves.

        • +13

I actually spoke up to one guy, he was annoyed cause i grabbed last X Men Movie Pack.. he was like.. why have a sale if you have no stock and he started demanding the kid give him a rain check. the kid explained there is no rain checks on sale items etc etc and he started getting angry. Everyone was just staring at him… i spoke up and told him in a rather polite way to go get effed.. he shut up and left the store LOL.. have sent an email to Big W commending the kid on his efforts and how he handled himself

        • +1

          Nice one.
unbelievable! I understand if this was COTD :P

It is actually appreciated when you send stuff like this to their managers etc. Im sure the kid will get a pat on the back for his efforts.

    • Do you mind posting a receipt for star wars please?

      • am not near a scanner.. will try and upload a photo from my phone asap

        • Thanks. I ordered online and they said they would match the instore price if it was cheaper and I had proof.

  • +5

Am in bigw. Buy online. man of steel 3d is $14 here in the store.
    Sorry iPhone typing.

    • scanned at 4.98 for me for 2D and $6.98 for 3d at store i went too

    • -2

Yep,$22 was the lowest for Man of Steel in Big W Blacktown this morning.

      Links no longer working, either.

The actual sale, in the previous post, would have been OK, if Big W hadn't broken their own rules and started the sale last night in some places, even opening earlier than their stated trading hours this morning, screwing over most people who saw this deal. I got a few myself, but for most OzB's it was a waste of time.

      • +1

Links still working for me at 11.37am

        • Yeah links working again for me now. Temporary problem with site I guess. Bought a few for crazy prices (half the already-half-off instore prices). Hope they honour it.

  • Cheers, got:
    Indredible burt wonderstone $6.00
Man of Steel 3D Blu Ray $7.00
Iron Man 3 blu ray- $17.00

  • Thanks OP.
Bought MOS 3D and Star Trek 3D.

  • +5

Thanks for the reminder, paying $5 for delivery is worth avoiding the hordes of people looking for a bargain

  • I bought Man of Steel 3D and Star Trek 3D. Thanks OP.

  • Got Doctor Who 50th Anniversary online as well. .

  • +1

If anyone happens to see Entourage on Bluray in store, and doesn't want it, I'd be happy to buy from them :) I tried a few stores in Vic and online, but no dice :(

    • I'd be happy to ease anyone's buyers remorse too regardless of where you live

      • No enterouge at qv. Actually pretty quiet here. Honestly don't think these prices are that exciting though

  • Thanks Ops. Got Superman 3D, Star Trek 3D, Django, Gatsby..
Missed out on Argo, Breaking Bad, TrueBlood, StarWars, Big Bang, Fringe….online

  • thanks great find

  • Useless website, dumped my cart after several overload screens. :(

  • +1

some of the prices have been updated again, so might be worth a check again for some

    • +1

Yeah, star wars now showing $29.50

Contacted online and they will honour the $29.50 price for existing orders

  • +1

4 Die Hard films and 2 Disney double blue rays (Mulan and Hunchback of Notre Dame) for $30 delivered. Good deal imo!

  • All I get when I try to click on a title is a 'Page cannot be found' message

    • Try a different browser.

  • Man of Steel wasn't scanning up at those prices in store (Noosaville), maybe those with daylight savings got access to the cheap pricing first!

    I picked up:
Star Wars Ep IV-VI trilogy for $22, I noticed the I-VI pack in the cabinet ticketed for over $100 so didn't bother.
Mission Impossible 4 triple play $8.00
Dark Knight Rises triple play $9.98

Suppose now I should get a blu-ray player, Full HD TV and a new amp to decode the HD audio!

  • +1

Better order online quick before they realised of their pricing error. A lot of items have 50% applied twice. But some not like Wolverine. They already placed 50% off yesterday and I guess when they applied the one day special today, they placed it again.

    • +5

I choose to ignore your sarcasm and say thanks! Thanks for your congratulations on our bargain hunting :)

    • +2

I have friends with that very same opinion. Personally, I wouldn't buy this film as it's not great IMO. Most genuine film enthusiasts watch great films or their favourites a lot though. I'm one of them. I have a HT room / projector for it. Go back to your garage and polish your pos car. ;-)

      • the day is young, someone will post a fast food deal so you can judge others as well dont worry!

        • Still bitter? I must have really gotten under your skin. Hilarious.

        • i just noticed a pattern of behaviour and called you on it, does it bother you?

        • -4

Makes me happy, as I said. You should feel bad for being fat, unhealthy and overweight… your reactions only prove that you do. Love it.

        • So it bothers you, it's easier to just admit the truth!

    • Who cares how other people choose to spend their money? Some people buy cigarettes and booze, I buy movies.

  • +2

You can also pre-order Game of Thrones Season 3 for half-price $27.42: http://www.bigw.com.au/entertainment/dvds-blu-ray/action-adv…

    Available Feb 2014

  • i bought Superman for $22 and Star Trek $17 last night. I bought online now, and will return to store today.

    • Don't return them until the online ordered ones are actually delivered to you!

Possible price mistake, they might not honour it. Hang on to the receipt for the in-store ones and return them once you get the cheaper ones.

  • +3

So many 3D bargains… I suspect someone has made a screw up and discounted twice or something because they are all about 50% off atleast. I bought 10 of them as I love my 3D stuff

    Madagascar 3 3D $7
    Monsters University 3D $11
    World War Z $11
    Star Trek 3D $7
    Julia X 3D $4
    Man Of Steel 3D $7
    Despicable Me 2 3D $9.50
    Sammys Adventure 2 (Excellent 3D) $5
    Step Up 4 3D (it was cheap :P) $5
    Rio 3D $8.75

There are some other great bargains, e.g. Hobbit, Avatar etc but I already have them. I had Epic in my cart but it sold out while I was researching

    • world war z was 22 dollars when I last checked.

      • Oh that was the 3D for $11, the 2D is $8.50 atm

        • yeah. good price! either one of those. missed it earlier this morning but going to pick this one up online. thanks for the heads up :)

    • Strange, paid double for many of those. Just got onto live chat and they will refund half what i was charged.

  • My online order placed at 6:30am has gone to back order, I wouldn't be so quick to return any store bought bargains until the online items have shipped

  • Looks like once the movie is out of stock, the online price is halved again - Star Wars $29.50, Amazing Spiderman $4, etc

  • +1

I bought a couple movies in store this morning, then was online, and was getting other stuff, and realised they were half again! I'm taking the store bought ones back….got some great stuff online!

  • Nice one, got Star Trek 3D, Man of Steel 3D and Django for $24 delivered.

  • -1

    Thanks OP (final edit;)

  • edit: nevermind

  • Damn, really need Finding Nemo to finish my pixar collection and it's perfect at $6, but it's out of stock.

    • I want Little Mermaid 3D but wasn't on the list.

  • Glenorchy (Tas) store refusing to match online price. Any way around this does anyone know? thanks.

    • if its out of stock online then probably not as some prices have gotten cheaper after it was out of stok. can you place an order online for pick up? does it provide you that option?

    • Don't think so…. most things are out of stock for online now, 3D blurays anyway. If it's in stock do a store pickup.

  • Nice will have to pick this up

  • I ordered the Star Wars pack again online as it was double discounted.

they just sent me an email stating correct price is $59 and i can choose to accept new price or get full refund on my order.

Guess they have realised the issues

    • call the 1300 number, they just told me there was a pricing error online but that they would honour the prices and provide me with a refund.

      • That doesn't make sense you're saying they would honour the prices and give you a refund. It can't be both either it's honour the price and give you the blu-ray or not honour the price and give you a refund.

  • Ignore.. duplicate comment

  • Paid $14 last night from Big-W. They really have no idea what they are doing.

  • Looks like they are doubling in price in the checkout screen (to the correct price if these are pricing errors). Not sure, but stopped me from impulse buying the things I would have.

    • I thought that too. Going further through checkout process and putting post code in brings them back down

    • Edit: BEATEN!
Same happened to me but when I entered postcode it refreshed with the correct price +delivery.

Thanks for this OP, sweet dealz

  • darn, placed 3 separate orders, could have saved $10 if I waited…

    • You might of saved more if you didn't order when you did though :p , I would of loved to have nabbed finding memo 3d…

      • Yeah, most of the movies dropped further in price!
