    • same I got. It dont include dvd and Digital copy. So thats ok

    • That's crappo, as I returned my JB copy when they had it for $20… While iTunes sells the SD version for $20, Big W giving back makes it only another $10, or $7 + $20 - $10 = $17 which is still cheaper, but then you still miss the DVD for those occasions you did lt want iTunes… Ah well.

    • +1

The coupon is pretty useless too. It's not like BigW is considerable cheap for blurays, especially adding on the delivery charge. Also its only valid for 15 days.

    • Yeah, got that too.

I didn't want the digital copy anyway (and it's not shot in 3D anyway, they just added fake 3D afterwards, so I don't care if it's 3D or 2D).

So the $10 is just a bonus, if I can find something to use it on.

  • Got the email for STID (normal version) and STID (3D version) - both offering downgraded product and $10 off. Can't see too much value in the coupon, unless you use Click and Collect. I mean it's $9.00 delivery fee on a $20 iTunes card!

  • I noticed the Star Trek one is 3D blu-ray and blu-ray only. No DVD now and no digital. The email got it wrong:

"‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’ 3D Blu Ray DVD"

I also noticed that I think my Man of Steel also has lost a digital copy but no notification as yet from Big W.

  • +1

Digital/DVD for blu-rays is pretty useless anyway, and $7 for a latest release 3d blu-ray is still mind bogglingly cheap, and Big W still decided to give us a semi-useful voucher. Props to them for their customer service and delivering the deal. My 10 are all in progress now

  • Got both of my orders over the past 2 days. Only thing, as reported, is the swap out for Star Trek: Into Darkness. Big W have really come through for customers on this sale, something companies like The Good Guys should learn from after their gaming sale fiasco.

    • I don't think so I haven't received any of my four orders yet.

  • Good to hear people are getting their orders now…my order is still all sitting in backorder although I was told last week it would ship today….hopefully by tomorrow it updates….one of them in a christmas present so really hoping I get it in time :/

  • +1

got two emails saying my Star Trek and Man of Steel are being downgraded…
this is unacceptable, especially the downgraded MOS isn't even 3D…
    ACCC here I come

    • +1

ACCC agree. Where do we go to report it?

I'm definitely going to do it, cause there's no store in Sydney CBD(where I live), the closest one is quite far.
It doesn't make any sense for me to waste my time and my bus fare to return something I didn't order.

        • It wa $7 have a cry about it, you'd make a profit selling it on eBay! some people are just never happy

        • It's not about money, it's about not happy with an order being messed up

        • +1

          ACCC aren't going to care

        • Well we'll see ;)

        • should go to ACA and today tonight!

        • +1

They really aren't, you've got enough time to waste to complain, but not enough to travel 9.4km to the closest store to return it

Your search for postcode 2000 found 10 results.
          Your closest store is:
          BIG W Pagewood (9.4km away)

Seriously, your obviously just complaining for the sake of it

Unfortunately, we’ve been unable to supply you with the ‘Man of Steel’ 3D Blu-ray + Ultraviolet version (BIGW_AID124452) you originally ordered. In its place, we will be sending another ‘Man of Steel’ Blu Ray DVD however it does not include the Ultraviolet DVD feature. We do apologise for any disappointment.

  • Ordered both Man of Steel and Star Trek with the ultraviolet versions (specifically so I could get it on the iPad without being stuffed around ripping and converting them). Sent two separate emails a day apart with $10 off a purchase by the end of the year…. Because they're removing the thing I bought it for…….

Exceptionally annoyed because I bought a bunch of other stuff after being lured by these. Having to use it by the end of the year is pretty terrible, hopefully they actually let me use BOTH of the codes, and they sell something worth buying by then. Don't see why they can't get in the versions I paid for, it's not as if they stopped making them (They're still advertising both as for sale!).

Fucking useless. I only bothered ordering it BECAUSE it was the 3D version. Now I have to waste my time and petrol returning it for a refund. Big W? Guess it stands for Big Wank.

    Not happy, Jan >:(

    • +1

I got the same message. It doesn't make any sense. They say it does not include UV but doesn't say it won't include 3D (which I assume was the intention?). So confusing. Guess we will have to wait and see what arrives. I too, will be pissed if a non 3D version turns up. If I wanted the regular version I would have just bought it when I was in their store that day. Is it actually legal for them to downgrade everyone's purchases like this? This is the third downgrade for me and I didn't order that many items. They even downgraded a Triple Play (non 3D) to a single disc.

    • Got the same email. They should have offered the option for a refund or exchange, because if it's not the 3D edition of the film, then they're exchanging it with an inferior product and offering a non unique $10 off voucher that's already been made public (which I've already used twice before getting the email).

To be fair though, I only purchased the 3D version because it was cheaper than the 2D version at the time (due to the incorrect 75% markdown), so I guess I shouldn't really complain too much.

      • Actually it's fake 3D anyway, I think.

    • +1

Throw it on gumtree or ebay as an 'unwanted unopened christmas present' even if you get $15 you're still ahead.

  • +1

I wonder if you buy Man of Steel (2013) (3D Blu-ray/Blu-ray) (3 Discs) Blu-ray and Star Trek Into Darkness (3D Blu-ray/Blu-ray) (2 Discs) Blu-ray for $28 each, they would send it without any issues. It is unfair considering they have both these versions available online.

  • +1

it doesn't make sense when they are available online now if you ordered at their price of $28.

  • +1

As for the $10 off codes - they are identical in both of the emails I received.

Tried making a purchase online above $10 and got…..

We're sorry but we were unable to validate your Promotional voucher code. Please check your code and re-enter if incorrect. If there is still an issue, please contact our Customer Support team on 1300 244 999

    • I get the same message if I do Click and Collect, if I do delivery it says applied at checkout. So when I go to checkout, the code isn't applied at all.

    • Uh-oh, that happened years ago when I got a $10 code from Big W. Had to call them; they had no idea and just sent me a gift card in the mail I think. Their IT screwups seem to be costing them. Maybe the CEO is one of those "IT is expensive! Cut! Cut! Cut!" idiots.

  • Online chat with Big W and they confirmed that my order for man of steel 3d DVD has been downgraded and no 3d.
I bought it for the 3d option as it was my first 3d on my new tv. Damn…
Asked them to contact me tomorrow and I might cancel the order if it is not 3d

  • +2

Almost a bait and switch. I bought it with 3D and UV. I want 3D and UV. If they downgraded it then they should have given me an option to cancel the order rather than expect me to return it to a store when it's not as described.

I get it when shit happens and they run out of stock, but they should not be forcing us to accept an inferior product to what we bought with the hope we wont bother to return it.

    • +2

I'm inclined to agree. Plus, if you decide to return it you will be out of pocket the $5 postage fee. Not sure what is worse, cancellation and refunds, or downgrades to an inferior product you don't want and didn't order. Why do all these companies keep committing public relations suicide by having sales they are inadequately prepared for?

  • +1

Same. Really annoyed. Do they also refund the postage????

  • +1

Maybe if we find it in store, we can swap it?

  • +1

Are you guys sure Man of Steel isn't 3D now? I'd be pretty annoyed if it wasn't. I bought it because it was 3D. I'd just return it instore if it isn't. Someone post if you manage to get BigW to honor Superman 3D

  • +1

Just got a message saying both my ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ Blu-ray / DVD / UltraViolet with Lego Figurine (3 Disc) version has been downgraded to ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ Blu-ray DVD (2 Disc)

It's still not bad for $7 but I will admit I'm disappointed by this especially as 1 was going to be a chrissy present….got another $10 off voucher but as these aren't stackable I don't see how they are very good value.

    • -1

Well you lost UV and the figurine. Still for $7 it's a bargain, I'd be more annoyed if it was 3D and they downgraded you to 2D

      • Yeah but while it says it's a "bluray dvd" it is actually only a bluray…considering the gift was for someone who I don't think actually owns a bluray player yet….the whole DVD part was pretty vital!

  • +2

    I clarified with BigW:
    "Kate: at 9:11:23
Hello xxxx, I apologise for the confusion the Super Man: Man of Steel will still be 3D however it just won't have the Ultra Violet."

Looks promising! The wording BigW gave in the email was very ambiguous

    • does sound promising…there's hope yet. Likewise, the product they were describing as the replacement does not exist, anyway, will just wait and see what turns up

  • +1

Unfortunately, we’ve been unable to supply you with the ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ (BIGW_AID121901) Blu-ray / DVD / UltraViolet with Lego Figurine (3 Disc) version you originally ordered. In its place, we will be sending another ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ (BIGW_ AID121837) Blu-ray DVD (2 Disc), however it does not include the Ultraviolet DVD feature and Lego figurine. We do apologise for any disappointment.

Third email like this. It's a cop out because they're still advertising these for sale, if they had issues supplying them they would take down the products from their site. They just would prefer to supply these instead. That's not acceptable.

  • According to the updated order on the web site this is what I am getting shipped. Both are still at least 3D blu-ray:

    Man of Steel:

    http://www.bigw.com.au/bigw/navigation/product_details.jsp?P…

    Star Trek ID:

    http://www.bigw.com.au/bigw/navigation/product_details.jsp?P…

  • I have received the same email as others.

Received my order today, both Man of Steel and Star Trek ID are BLU Ray 3D + Blu Ray,
but no standard DVDs and no digital copies. I am still happy.

Now I got two $10 e Vouchers, but the same code, can I use them on the same account twice on two orders?

    • I believe the code is re-usable so you could use it for multiple orders.

    • See this other deal for how to take advantage of the eVoucher:

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/127187

(Hint: clear cookies or use Chrome Incognito mode to re-use voucher, and place separate orders to maximize savings)

  • +2

Just collected my click and collect order, and turns out that I got the $10 voucher for nothing because they gave the correct STID (bluray/dvd/digital).
    Nice!!

  • Did anyone pre-order Game of Thrones Season 3 and other blurays in the same order?

I ordered 4 blurays along with preorder of GOT S3 and have just been told that the other 4 blurays will not be available until GOT S3 is available on 19th Feb?

    • I had the same thing happen to me with GOT S3 i have 2 other blurays that wont be sent until GOT S3 comes out.

      • I can't remember if they mentioned during the checkout/payment process warning us about not fulfilling orders until all items are available?

        • i didn't see any notice stating this,i called them about it and they basically said either wait or cancel your order.

        • +1

I got caught out like this last time so I split the orders thankfully.

  • +1

Got my movies today. Straight under the tree they went.

    • What state? Still waiting in NSW…

      • +1

        NSW

  • +1

Got my movies too - Superman and Star Trek ID are both 3D. In NSW by the way.

  • Anyone know how long Big W will hold click+collect orders for? Mine's been ready since Wednesday and they quote 2 days, may be able to go today but otherwise not until Monday.

    • +1

      I wouldn't risk it, mate.

They have extended opening hours, I'm sure, maybe you can go late tonight?

    • +1

Their terms says 14 days. Did you get an email or SMS to let you know it's ready. I am waiting for mine too but I am away at the moment.

      • Both, I ended up collecting today just before midnight(!), ah, silly Christmas hours :)

  • My order status turned to "shipped" last night and arrived today, caught up on all the Disney movies I want.

    • Same, All mine arrived today

  • Got mine today too, all blu ray 3d/blu ray copies, no dvd or digital copy, but for the price I ain't complaining! :)

    • +1

      Nope no complaints, Bargains

  • +1

    my experience.
my man of steel was infact 3D, just no UV.
i asked and the lady about swapping (thinking at the time I wasnt getting the 3D version).
she said if i wanted to, i could swap it for the 3d + UV (they had in stock)
i declined once i found out my copy was actually 3D (I only wanted 3D).

if you really want UV, just ask nicely and they might offer the switch.

  • got mines too
man and steel and star trek, both 3d and normal blu ray, no V+UV, no compliants

  • Got mine 20th. Suburban NSW. STID (swapped one I got an email and $10 voucher for) came as 2D BD (I think I ordered 2D anyway), MOS was 2D+dvd+UV. All good.

  • +1

I the Codes generic?? I've received two and they're both the same.

  • +1

Got mine on Friday, very happy, after the TGG fiasco I was prepared for cancellations again, but Big W have come through…and in time for Christmas! :D
