  • would you know whether there is any purchase limit on this?

    • +1

      Normally 1 per account..

  • +1

This going to be ozbargained within minutes? I won't be able to get online at 4pm..

    • +5

However, stockland's cards are still available
I guess Westfield ones will be sold out quicker than that.

      • +1

They did sell out at 2000 but I guess they "got more".

  • the free iTunes card took one hour to finish.
pls I haven't even received mine yet

    • Yeah free itunes GC offers are a Crazy time. Good for testing the servers!

  • No west-fields near me and I don't think the Dexus group has a giftcard.
Sure are a lot of west-fields near Sydney though!

Picked up a few of the Stockland ones gonna turn them into Eb games giftcard and Big W GC and get some super cheap games!
(if you end up doing this make sure you ask the store your going to do this with if it's possible before buying the westfield giftcard.)

  • Ok, Gonna standby on thurs 4pm..

  • +4

Will this also incur $2.95 activation fee like previous Westfield gift card offer?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/125721

    • I doubt it.
That was a service fee imposed by Westfield for purchasing the card, not activating it per se.
I expect that Scoopon/V.Me would have to have covered this already.

  • +3

Complete n00b question but what is V.me and how does one 'pay with V.me'?

    • +10

V.me is Visa's attempt at making their own paypal. You set up a vme account giving vme your card details and then use your vme username and password to pay. It functions exactly like paypal. So all these vme promos are just to gain members so they can get a foothold in the online payment market.

      • +2

I always wondered what v me was so thank you!

        Are their fees as high?

        • +2

Visa does not charge a fee to make a purchase with V.me
Please refer the following link for more details

      • +1

        It functions exactly like paypal.

can you receive payments with V.me?

        • +2

Not yet don't know if vme will go that way. Hope they do though.

  • How many are on offer?

    • +1

Judging by the previous offer I'd guess over 2000 but can't be certain really.

    • +1

I guess 2000+ based on previous offer

      • Thanks OP, might have a chance.

  • You mean scoopon not scoopan (did you get auto corrected by apple?)

  • I wonder if these will be Westfield XS giftcards or if they'll only be the plain ones which can only be used in actual west fields.

I'd be so in if they were the XS ones.

Edit guessing by the cards image it's the plain one.

  • What's stopping "someone" from buy 10 with 10 accounts?

    • not much they might notice if you buy enough though. Not sure what that limit will be though.

    • Doesnt say limit to 1 / customer?

    • nothing

    • +1

One credit card with v.me so I suppose 1 each only unless u haf more than 1 Visa/mastercard

      • +2

No you only need multiple scoop on accounts. The same vme is alright.

  • can you use these at Coles or woollies inside westfield?

    • +5

      Woolworths - YES
      Coles - NO

    • if there's a kmart in your local westfield, buy a coles group card with your westfield card.

  • Is there a direct link to the scroopon offer?

    • Not till the offer is active unfortunately.

      • oh ok. so best to just refresh the scrooppon website at around 3.58 - 4pm ?

  • Good deal

  • Is V.me only in Aus at the moment? (looks that way). If they are expanding O/S, any word on currency conversion fees/spread (given that paypal rorts everyone).

    • +3

There is no conversion fee. All V.me does is just pass on the amount directly to your linked Visa card as if you are paying by the card directly, only difference is to the merchant they don't get to see your card number as it's hidden behind V.me. Whatever the conversion fee your bank normally charges remains.

      • Thanks. I'm also assuming the bank will see v.me as the merchant rather than the actual merchant?

        • +1

On my bank account payments for the stock field one show up as. Visa purchase them the date then scoop on mulgrave.

    • +1

Australia, Canada, France, Spain, UK and US going by this link: https://www.v.me/select_country?locale=en

  • Must be a limited to 1, else it would be gone in minutes. Save 10 bucks, is it worth the effort with the mad rush to get 1.

    • Using previous deals as a guide, you can't enter more than 1 in quantity anyway. The system will also reject you if you try to make an additional purchase using the same account.

      • With the iTunes cards last time they'd let you buy more than one but you'd get an email telling you the extra amount were cancelled.

    • i think it'll be okay. i got the free $10 itunes fine and i logged in late as i forgot about it.

  • sorry but where is the link to make the purchase? I cannot find it on scoopon

    • Won't be up till tomorrow
      Go on scoopon then

      • thanks!

  • ok

    • +4

Yes I'm fine, thanks for asking.

  • Still no itunes card.. How long will it take, has anyone got there's?

    • Won't be sent/email out till 13th dec if you checked your scoopon details

    • Nope to that, but just got a cancellation email from them. I tried to buy a second one using a different email address, name and payment method… oh well.

      Dear Valued Scoopon Member,

During our recent iTunes and V.me promotion an anomaly was detected. We have isolated a large number of purchases made from the same IP address and/or in the same name. Please note that the terms of use permit only one voucher per person.

This email address has been identified as one in a series of purchases, therefore we are unable to send a voucher through. The one cent processing fee will be refunded automatically and your Scoopon voucher will be cancelled.

      • Oh damn they're on the ball this time around. so you just used the same home address? how many did you try for? wonder how they'll handle different people legitimately living under the same address.

        • Yeah, same home address, but I was only trying to get a 2nd one for my partner, so I used their name and PayPal account to pay for it.

Oh well. As long as they still honour mine, I won't complain.

        • Did you use a different scoop on account too? If so wow that actually means they are checking ip addresses. That's some dedication.

        • Yep, totally different Scoopon account with my partner's name.

The only thing in common was the postal address (and obviously the IP address).

It's cool. As long as I get one i'm happy. I guess they have to be Nazi's with the limits so it gives people more of a chance of getting one rather than none.

        • Wow that's impressive they're actually doing ip checks. Shame there's no way to tell how many legitimate people there are in a house hold.

        • I work at a business park campus of 5500 people and ALL Internet traffic goes out on the same 1Gbps link with the same public IP address. Can't see how they could enforce IP checks when many people could legitimately be coming from the same IP.

          More likely an address check?

      • Good on Scoopon to detect it. I'm impressed. I know it's doable, but not many would spend the effort to do that.

      • +1

So that is 1 scoopon per household? LoL those live with friends and homemates will have to try their luck to see which will be cancelled.

        • +2

          Hey Guys,

Thanks for your interest in this deal! It's certainly going to be a big one :)

And yes, we can can confirm that the deal is in fact limited to one Scoopon per household. Our orders team are ensuring that this will remain the case when the deal goes live.

          Happy Shopping!

        • -6

Rep, how about if 1 person have 5 houses? Can they order 1 each using same scoopon account if all destination address is different?
Can you please elaborate on what is the criteria used by your order team, for example unique destination address, unique payment method, unique scoopon account, or combination of either of those 2, or combination of all 3, etc?

        • Stop being a dick, seriously man.

        • -3

Why are you so rude? I'm trying to ask legitimate question on how they determine multiple purchases…

        • …so you can figure out a way to beat their limit?

        • Exactly. You're trying to find a way to rort the system, it isn't a legitimate question.

        • +2

          If i had 5 homes I wouldn't worry about 10 dollar gift cards ;)

        • -2

          Not really. Consider this scenario:
Your brother visiting you, and want to get this deal. Since it is start at 4pm and likely to be sold out once he got back home, he decided to use your internet.

Without knowing what criteria they use, they can cancel your legitimate order without have to explain why. Is it because of the order originated from the same IP (even though shipping address is different)? If you know the restriction clearly, you can use your phone to order, and both can get this deal.

In the mean time they (Scoopon/V.Me) are continue harvesting so many new member, not knowing that they are not even able to get this deal, for unknown reasons.

Having the information is always handy. Not everyone is as greedy as people might think…

        • -1

Some people actually have multiple homes because they have a thrifty lifestyle.
This is one of so many ways of saving some money. Like the old saying, every little bit helps :)

  • Just registered a V.me account.
Anyone used Amex to pay for previous deals successfully?
I remember someone said Amex didn't go through before, but I was able to add Amex in my account, not sure if that means it will pay without any problem.

    • +2

Yes, you don't have to pay with V.me. Last deal was sponsored by V.me, but you could pay with any other method they provided just fine.

      • +2

This is true for the I tunes one but the stock land one you did need vme. The I tunes one was supposed to be v me only though no clue why other payments were accepted.

    • +1

V.me lets you use any major credit or debit card through a single service. It's your choice

      https://www.v.me/#flexible

      • +1

The first deal I purchased with v by me, I selected my amex card and then I get this error message to say that the merchant doesn't allow this sort of card :( It appears to be merchant dependant.

  • Just checked my scoupon account and voucher says use from 13th December, does this initially mean I will be emailed then???

Edit: cheers just found that right after you posted!

Now with westfield cards I wonder if these can be used any westfield or specified locations, might purchase a couple as Xmas gifts.

  • Can you use these at Myer in a Westfields centre?

    • +1

Only Myer & Coles not accept Westfields GC, all other stores are fine.

  • +1

    Is this 4pm Sydney time?

  • And one per account again :)

  • Shame, gift card not accepted by Chatime. Anyone knows the expiry date of these cards?

    • I think usually a year? Not 100% sure.

  • So any one who secured a stockland giftcard wanna swap for a Westfield GC, if I can get a hold of one? Wonder if a gift card could make it through the postal system without getting stolen. Only lose out 60c on postage. Thinking about swapping only if you have a longstanding OzBargain account and seem trustworthy.
