recvd voucher - you have till 30th April 2014 to redeem voucher and 12months start from that point.

Worked for me and the email was pretty much instant so I'm guessing for the people who aren't getting their emails just plug it in again. Possibly also check your spam bins although mine went into the primary inbox for my gmail account.

what is the feature of this service? and how does it different from the free one? is it adding group conversation only?

    • +2

      Live chat customer support

      • +1

well yeah, that is just group conversation only, i was thinking it include skype out call etc.

  • +1

Thanks OP! Successfully upgraded to Premium account. Wonder if I will get unlimited calls to 50 countries as well which is also a standard feature of Skype Premium account?

    • +1

Pretty sure you do worst case you'd get 600 mins per month. It says the 'voucher' price is €71,88 which is over their medium subscription but lower than their highest subscription.

  • +1

    Got it! Thanks OP!

  • +1

    thanks - works !

  • Nope still works. just a bit slow

    "Service is unavailable"

      • All in accordance with the message displayed to you when you requested the code.

Same I am getting this "The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred."

    • +1

I think it has be ozbargain.

  • +2

I don't think this includes any calls. Can anyone try making calls to some Australian/UK landlines to the premium countries and check. Still an awesome deal as its free. The site seems to be down now , if anyone got an extra voucher to share will be very helpful for my work from home for screen sharing.

AU$ 119.88 Skype Premium so what does this do to your account what benifit does it have and why would they give this away free,im not sure what i have added to my account but interested to find out what it is im being offered here,

    • +2

If you click the link it shows you what you're getting for free. Read the text above the box that asks for your email address.

  • +1

Thanks OP, received the email with voucher code within a couple of minutes.

  • I tried for at least 10 mins sending but still can't get the email. :< anyone the same?

    • +1

Not getting the email either. For those who got it - was it instant or did you have to wait a period of time?

  • +1

So what's the hype with this sort of deal? Skype is crap nowaday (only good if you need VoIP services), google hangout give you free group video and you don't even need to own an Android device to enjoy that. And there're plenty other free apps on iOS/Android that offer these features. And why do you need free live chat support when their service is crap (with same bandwidth, Skype offer the worst video service over the others). Everything that M$ purchases goes downhill.
But because it's giveaway I'm not going to neg it.

    • Because Grandma only knows how to use Skype, and refuses to use anything else.

      Legacy users keep it alive.

  • +1

Tried 5 times. Still not getting the email :(

    • +1

Same here - multiple tries, I am wondering if the email provider is the problem…
I have tried two different Hotmail accounts - what provider are you using?
Just tried a gmail account and no luck there either…

      • +1

I have 2 gmail accounts. Out of luck on both..

        • +1

me and my partner have gmail accounts and we both got the code and were able to use it.

    • Tried over the course of the day using gmail as well as non-free accounts. Nothing. Are they still giving out the codes?

  • +1

Did you read what you posted xiuhan83 ?
It seems like it didn't work ;-)

    • +1

Unless he typed the message himself rather than copy/paste, and the "not" was a typo of "now".

  • +1

Unfortunately I don't think this is as good as it sounds. I tried making a landline call after getting my account upgraded and it failed with a prompt that I need to buy Skype credit to make calls. Sounds like you are just getting the ability to do group chat.

    • +1

It does exactly what it says it is going to do.

      • +1

Whilst you are absolutely right, I just thought I'd point it out - as it sounds like there's some confusion regarding the deal. Other comments seem to indicate that people are expecting it to include free calls - as all the paid for Skype premium packages on offer now do. The quoted value of the deal seems to be misleading people too. I'm not sure where the figure of $119AUD comes from. This is more than the actual cost of packages which do include free calls.

        • +1

Sure, I'll agree with you there: that the package value is equal to the one which does include free calls. However, on the sign-up page it is made clear what the deal is.

  • Unknown error occurred. Please try again later.

when I put the voucher, i already have the premium as part of xbox one, is that why this error comes up ?

  • hmmm

  • Tried with work email and gmail, no code received.

    • Received mine early this morning, redeemed and found no change on my account, at least the ad is still there.

  • I was with the skype support and the person said that there are 2 types of Skype premium the one you got (OZbargain one) is limited to screensharing and all the features except making calls to Landlines and mobiles of the 50 selected countries.

So guys no more calling just screensharing and group video calls

    thanks

    • Free calls were never a part of this offer and so I'm not sure why people are feigning disappointment about the lack of free calls.

  • lol, people trying to sell these on eBay…

  • Just got the email with code (at 4.06am).

  • +2

Do I need group chat? Or am I an ozbargain sheep.

  • -1

I got the email, and redeemed the voucher. I got the message-
"Your voucher or prepaid card was successfully redeemed, and we are now activating the following services: AU$ 119.88 Skype Premium"
But it doesnt activate the Premium service, all I got is just a group video (skype to skype) and I did not get other premium features such as unlimited calls :(

    • -1

All in accordance with the message displayed to you when you requested the code.

It pays to read the information that is presented to you on the screen. It could not have been clearer!

Enjoy your free group video calls for 12 months.

      • +3

I think the confusing bit is calling it Skype premium on the receipt and claiming a value of AUD $119.88 when it obviously isn't Skype premium or worth AUD $119.88.

        • +1

If people read what they're signing up for there would be much less "confusion".
