    These guys are crooks.. Did my car service.
    Told me my power steering looked dirty and for an extra $30 they will flush this.

    My mrs picked up the car and they charged her $140. Plus they changed the battery (nothing wrong with old one). Told the Mrs they already discussed it with me (which they didn't) and charged her an extra $170 for that,

        Ha, you'll be fine. Just make it explicit that you want the oil and filter changed only and to make a note of anything that requires attention.

        If you don't they may just go ahead and undertake extra "small" maintenance items, but I've never come across it myself.

        I'm not sure if the brake fluid flush is an extra $119 on top of the $79? But to give you an idea of price, my last brake fluid flush and replacement cost $95 with UltraTune Midland. I've always changed the oil and filter myself but I know this can range between $80 to $180.

        Its not a terrible deal. Just ensure you discuss your requests beforehand, preferably with the on-site manager.

        ps. records show my car was serviced at Bunbury Holden before I got it. At 120,000 service I took it to Ultratune to replace the trans fluid (at a great price) and they informed me that it probably never got changed at its 60K service. I rang Holden and got the records to confirm they never did change the trans oil amongst other major services but signed the log book to indicate that they had

      Same thing happened to me.

      To make matters worse I discovered they put the wrong transmission fluid in during my car service and stuffed up the auto……thankfully i sold my car a week after the service (not knowing about the stuff up at the time). The poor guy who bought the car was taking legal action against them as they denied all responsibilty.

      No one else had worked on the car as i had always had my car serviced with them. Never going back to them

    Cars using more than 5 litres of oil will be charged an extra $12 per litre. Any engines other then 4 and 6 cylinder petrol such as turbo, 4wd, light commercial, V8, diesel, special synthetic oils, super diesel oils or special cartridge filters (normally European) will incur an extra cost for the variance in oil needed by type and volume. This is not a log book service. New cars will not get books stamped for warranty, however you may request UltraTune to perform the logbook service and pay the additional cost. The additional cost will be the difference in price from $195 to what the logbook service is for your vehicle.

    hmm. heaps of cars are turbocharged these days and modern engines will more often than not require synthetic oil. seems to be aimed towards those with older cars? in which case i reckon it'd be cheaper to service your car yourself, and better peace of mind too

    and they ought to charge you less if you have a 3 cylinder car ;)

    This isn't really "Full maintenance" for $79, considering you'll be paying so many extra costs at the end. Seen so many of these "coupons", easy to be suckered in but definitely not a bargain.

    Ultratune is the one of the biggest crooks group out there. Comparing the prices with the dealer service, you will probably save $5-$20, but the extras they wanted to charge you is unbelievable! Use them twice in different locations, never again! The local mechanics is much cheaper and more honest! Every time, I see the ad about them, I just to switch the channel because they are full of shit!

    Still have the $29 Profix Scoopon in my account from last time. They actually told me that it wasn't worth it when I arrived and the extra for oil & parts would somehow be more expensive than their basic service. Naturally I haven't been back there, and my Scoopon serves me as a constant reminder not to do business with them. Ironically however, I do take my car to Ultra Tune (but only when I really have to).

    I just recently had my car serviced & re-gased the AC at http://www.groupon.com.au/deals/melbourne/hi-tech-automotive… and I must say they were awesome. AC works a charm now and they managed to fix an ongoing squeak without charging extra. They listed all the problems wrong with my car (nothing major) but I wasn't forced to fix anything.

    This is just a checkup, no logbook servicing just an inspection. If you want anything actually fixed you'll pay extra.

    I can't comment on Ultratune, but I picked a similar one up in Brisbane from a local mechanic on the westside. No upselling and even though it was the time to change my brake fluid he tested it and said it was still fine and to do it next time.

    These group buy car service things are never a bargain or a good deal. They always rip you off and fabricate work needed to be done, as you can see above from peoples experiences and the terms and conditions, these guys are a joke. Sucks to be anyone who bought this.

    Id say this is a bad deal
    Firstly this is a minor service "Includes oil filter and oil (up to 5ltr) for 4 and 6 cylinder engines only" Major should include spark plugs and air filters etc…so not something i'd call a full service. Also doesn't state what oil they'll be using for engine. I'd assume turbos and turbo diesels would come at extra costs.

    Secondly it doesn't really say coolant/brakefluid is included in the $119 upgrade.

    Id stay away from this one, too many undefined terms.
