Such a decent price you can't include it anywhere in the title or post? :-P

    • lol fixed

normal price! :) most stores are selling at this or almost this price

Yeah normal price, MSY have it for $609 http://msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=11082
I think you've confused the $889 price which belongs to the GTX780Ti which is in a whole different league

Not really, more like 10 - 15% performance difference.

      • +1

True, but in terms of price there's a big difference for only 10-15% performance gain

It's true for everything tech, e.g. i7 vs i5, premium for just having the best I guess.

Who the hell spends this much on video games?

    • Litecoin mining, apparently there is a new miner that speeds up mining on Nvidia now.

      • Cudaminer has had a recent upgrade, but nVidia cards still can't get anywhere near ATI for scrypt mining.

    • These GFX cards, although are great for gaming are more for those who want to future proof their pc or if their going to be hardcore editors for images and videos.

Or those people who get 1440p/1600p monitors (not realising their mid range GPU's are going to melt running most titles even in minimum graphics mode).
GTX780/AMD R9 290 is the minimum I would get for a 1440p/1600p monitor; there will be AAA titles that will still be pretty slow at high/medium detail at those resolutions. For a 1080p you're going to be fine with a mid range GPU though.
I'm not sure what's going to happen when 4K monitors become more affordable, everybody is going to need to go SLi/Crossfire I think.

      • There is no such thing as future proof, you're much better off getting what you need now and upgrading when you need to.

BEWARE that I had a problem with the current Gigabyte GTX770 OC having a cooler about 1cm overhanging the PCB, and longer than the Asus etc. The Gigabyte wouldn't fit in the case so it had to be changed for the Asus equivalent. This was in a standard ATX/mid tower case http://www.cplonline.com.au/nzxt-guardian-921rb-blue-led-cas…

Just check the website for card length as the cooler on the 780 looks the same…

Edit: it is the same 292mm http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/product-page.aspx?pid=46…, and the Asus is a bit shorter at 274mm http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/GTX7803GD5/#specification…

Measure your case interior length b4 jumping on this one…me thinks the Gigabyte cards may be discounted around the place for this overhang resulting in poor sales…maybe.

    Cheaper to buy a PS4/Xbox One…

    • cheaper to get some booze

    • cheaper to get some hookers

    • cheaper to play some blackjack…

    • Buy a 660ti if you want console level performance

      • a 660ti… i think you are being a little too generous…

        • all hail the PC master race!

        • I'll say, plus TPB doesn't really cater for PS4 or X1. :)

        • Just a matter of time giggles.

        • -1

everything is a matter of time, so thanks for stating the obvious that is relevant to everything in the universe.

Even yours is 'just a matter of time'.

          As was your youth.

        • TPB…I wouldn't be bragging about sourcing you're stuff from there…try getting into a private tracker.

        • "you're" is short for "you are"

I think you meant "your" as in the possessive form of "you".

You think because I mention TPB I am a downloader? Are you that easily led to attach a statement to an act?

I see there are still a lot of inflatable reactionaries here…maybe there is an iPad app for that.
