Toshiba L7300A 58" FHD LED LCD 3D Capable Smart TV $1197 @ HN

180

Looking for a 60" smart tv myself but low on budget
Found this on Harvey Norman
I believe this is the cheapest SMART tv there is out there for the ~60" size

I know the 60" LG for $978 is cheaper but its plasma and not SMARTtv (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/128248)

However if anyone suggests that the LG deal is better I might go with that as I do not know much about toshiba tvs or their smart features. Anyone?

  • Are the Toshiba TV's now Toshiba built or just rebranded no name sets?

usama91 if I where you put a little more in and get a Sony or something with that's quality. The LG and This look crap for picture quality if your after that.

A.) He said he has a low budget, so this TV more than compensates for that.

B.) You need to install Firefox with auto spelling and grammar features.

    • Hey winbargain, I would go for the 50" Sony that's going for $747 but I really want 60" and this seemed good enough. And as for adding bit more cash, I just can't.

    A: I don't need to install anything.

B: You don't have to be a *ick, and you might want to look into that.

C: For $200 more he could get a Sony 60" R520 from Sony Centre $1497 - Save $400 - New Year Sale, Seems like a good price but I don't know if it's the cheapest everywhere

$200 more IS $200 more…. Anyone can buy better stuff for more money, he said on a low budget.

    • +1

      You need a calculator too. $1497 is $300 more…

      • More like I need to pay more attention. lol point taken tho :P I was actually quoting the $200 more part, not it's relation to the principal sum.

  • Have you got a link to the sony model cheers

No I don't have a link but there should be plenty of reviews on-line R520/R550, if you can live without the 3D the picture quality suppose to be great according to reviews.

  • I had a look at this tv yesterday. The PQ isn't bad. However, the software in the tv is horrible! Menu selection is extremely slow and laggy. If you can handle this….then this isn't a bad tv for the price.

    • The list of apps these things ship with is unimpressive (there's zero catch-up TV). The UI is laggy and generally unpleasant. If you're after a "smart TV" I'd keep looking.

The picture quality can be coaxed into being fairy good (but not great), however out of the box the defaults are awful, as are the presets.

      • I might just go for the Sony 50" for $747 at GG wish it was 60" though

oh ffs why would you not buy a TV because it has a bad UI or a bad software? Just buy a Google thingy for your TV, or WD LSMP. We have a 58" FHD LED TV for under $1,200. Good deal IMO.

  • Toshiba also has a 2-yr warranty!(rare these days from most "Brand" names)

  • I like manufacturers who provide a 100 page downloadable User Manual.

The only thing is you don't get firmware updates to fix bugs or improve UI with these brands like you would from a Samsung TV etc.
I have an April 2010 Samsung plasma and there was another firmware update in August, 2013.
