AA Powered Emergency Mobile Charger w/ White LED for Samsung $3.84 AUD Shipped @ DealsExtreme

12

Turn your stocked eneloop to a portable mobile charger! I assume it works for any mobile phone and the best thing is: it won't explode! You also can bring a pack of eneloop to prolong the run time of your phone. Remember that this is a very slow charger like 500ma, for many phones you only can use it lightly whilst charging.

I also bought this torch:

Very good review and the price is ok for a quality one.

Also they will have another torch:

On sale in two days later for $2.38USD. Not sure about it as it's Luminus brand emitter, anyone have any idea?

I have this and I have to warn you guys that IT WON'T WORK WITH ENELOOP. This requires 2x1.5AA while eneloop only provides 1.2V for each battery. I got the similar item from ebay. I'm sorry OP but I have to neg this offer.

    • FYI, 1.2 is nominal voltage, it varies from 1.4+ to 1.1 on discharge and from 1.1 to almost 1.7 on charge. Data sheets

      • I bought 3 similar items from different sellers on ebay and they can only work with regular 1.5v AA, not with 1.2v Eneloop.

    • Thanks for the input, I will see is individual problem or voltage problem when it comes.

I've had one of these for about six months, and have used it with eneloops and other rechargable NiMH batteries exclusively without issue.

It's certainly not beyond the realm of possibility that there are different batches of these things floating around though, some of which may use slightly different components that are fussier about the minimum voltage input.

  • Around $2 on ebay delivered. DX is not doing deals, unfortunately.

    • I remember that was a special before but not now, any link for current $2 offer?

      • Search AA emergency charger on ebay.
Then select price + shipping: lowest first
        Then select Buy It Now

First page of results should be filled with this model along with others for under 2 USD.

  • Mine did explode after about 5 mins of use loaded with enerloops I heard a pop. Garbage!!

  • 500mAh?! Prepare for a long wait to charge!

Deal extreme's service and warranty are worthless. and buyincoins or banggood or tmart are always cheaper

    • Buyincoins once sent me a defective item and claimed it was checked before delivery, refusing to refund me. I'd never shop there now. My service with DX has been better, aside from the issue they had with deliveries last year where they didn't respond to any of my emails…

I guess it's a mixed bag with all of them.

      • I've always shopped with Buyincoins from ebay. Never knew they were actually a large dropshipper. Good response from the seller (as with most ebayers trying to avoid neg feedbacks).

        • eBay seems to be the way to go, as you can threaten bad feedback which most will do almost anything to avoid, and you can lodge a PayPal dispute if necessary.

DX has failed me more times than it's worked (lost items, sent wrong items, poorly described items about eight times) plus sometimes I'd order an item with 5 accessories, have the accessories arrive in separate envelopes over 4, 6, 7, 9 weeks, then after three months and many emails I'm informed that the main item is not available, so they're giving me a credit. So the other five accessories that go WITH the main item are now worthless!

    • I will say all the none branded stuff from these chinese seller are shit quality, hence they all try to dodge the warranty claim. For anything more than $10 I will go for a branded one, which at lease can find some review.

If you got a faulty item, please don't opt for replacement, take the refund and buy again, never try to post back. I have learnt these from the hard way, never expected any service for un-branded product.

DX has lots of smaller vendor with brand name, which quality is heaps better but very affordable, and my personal experience is much quicker posting than the others.

  • best thing is: it won't explode!

Or you can use 18650 chargers with safe chemistry batteries like IMR's. Wont have to wait till the new year to finish charging aswell.
