Should be a decent machine. The 24GB SSD is presumably for caching frequently used data, so that two drives would behave as a single 500GB drive which happens to be a lot faster than a regular HDD but not as fast as a SSD. I haven't used one but an SSD cache sounds like a good idea for a computer in this price range.
Office work is selling a laptop similat to this deal for $998. Judging from the price difference i ll say the laptop on this deal is better.

Note: The laptop on this deal and the laptop on sale at OW is not identical but extremely similar. The only difference is a 1.7GHz vs 1.8GHz.(OW model having the lower clockspeed processor but 0.1GHz is very insignificant).
You will end up getting it for around $670 after price beat if you are lucky.
