  • Is the HVN AMEX offer only for AMEX cards? Or does it applies to Bank issued AMEX?

    • It seems bank issued AMEX cards can't join…

I got the Neato from Amazon for $334.53 USD delivered.
The Neato is great. Don't regret it.

  • Can I register my amex for this deal now?

I've always wanted to try one of these robot vacuum. How does this compare to other brands? Like iRobot Roomba?

    • Neato or Lg Roboking, at least they follow a pattern. I reckon most of the cheap robots get their "algorithm" by observing a monkey playing with a ping pong ball in a room.

      • I've got the LG Roboking (got it from MIL for Christmas).
Pretty impressed compared to others that I've seen.

  • Funnily enough, the OzBargain homepage is showing me an add for a cheap Robot Vacuum
    http://www.godfreys.com.au/on-sale-now/superhero-robo-cleane… - $89.
Don't expect to find a cheap vacuum at most stores though - The franchised Godfrey stores all seem to have the really good sale items go missing.

Not saying I'd recommend that one either though.

    • Even that web page has gone missing. 404 page not found

Here i found where it wandered off to. But like wow a whole $10 discount just too much of a saving…. Must be a bit crap if the normal price is $99 and they're selling it for $89.

      • I think the 3 month warranty says a lot about how good the product must be too. I walked into a godfreys thinking I might give it a go (when it was $99) but the warranty (and the fact that there is no docking station, so you have to manually charge it) put me off.

Anyone have any experience with these ?
I just had to return one I got from Deals Direct(not one of these….their own $200 version).
Did a good enough job apart from it could never find its way back to the charging station in time (didn't seem to have a memory of where it had been just sort of started randomly looking for the charging station) and after a while it started to just switch of randomly.

    • Yes and no…3 good reviews and an "it was faulty unit" which I wouldn't really count as a product review.

  • Is the storage component for the rubbish large enough?

  • Just picked mine up at Coburg, couldn't find my amex card, used visa :(

they had to price match their own website, they had about 5 floor stock

    • Have you tried it yet? Any good?

Nah not yet, its in my car boot right now and in going to the city now to pick up another bargain that got delivered to my office ;)

but when i looked at the range in Harvey Norman, i flipped most of them upside down to try and figure out the differences, they were more/harder brushes, 2 vs 1 sweeper and tracking system, most of them wander around ay random, the good ones use a camera to map the ceiling so they don't miss any spots and go over the same place over and over again, i haven't plugged it in yet but in afraid to say that the one on sale has softer brushes than most and only has 1 sweeper that looks like it'll bend in half with little use, it doesn't have the camera tracking system either, but more of a novelty purchase for me anyway.

Its looks about middle of the range compared to the Samsung and $1,100 LG. Its lighter but doesn't appear to be total junk. I'll give it a whirl and let ya know :)

        • Yea, agree with you on that. I might go to one of the stores that have it in stock on the weekend and see for myself what it looks like. Thanks

Ok she's done a run around and since I've never had a robovac before I can't compare but it seems to do a good job.

Rubbish compartment seems small-ish but no smaller than others that were on display. It picks up floor rubbish really well, it copes well on most surfaces (incl kids ABC jigsaw floor mat) but doesn't like the shag rug (gets bogged).

It doesn't have the camera like the higher end models to map the roof or whatever but it doesn't seem to overly stick in one area, it seems to enter a new room perhaps by random and then it explores the room without heading back out, cleaning as it does.

Very easy to program, clean and setup. I got 5 year warranty for an extra $40. Considering all the motors, spinning heads, fans and the amount of physical work this thing is going to do I reckon its cheap insurance….

What would be the largest weight cat that could ride on this? This is important info for my buying decision

    • Have tested with my lightweight Siamese cross - no issues. Heavy weight black mongrel cat (who is normally easy going) was not available for testing (got the chocolate starfish tail up sign of get lost I ain't getting on there!)
