  • I used to like Time, but like The Economist, it has just gotten thinner and thinner and thinner as the years have passed. They're not quite down to recycling Reddit and Mashaable stories and having "Top 10 reasons you need to know about x" as the main headlines like news.com.au, but with the high cost of good journalism, it mightn't be too long.

I subscribe to Time for well over a decade, as far back as 1995.
There used to be pretty good in-depth scientific articles on latest of the science front for the general public to understand but in recently years, it has been rarer and fewer…

It also began to be too PRO certain government
sparing their version of the truth lacking balance of views.

I used to be a subscriber of Technology Review by MIT. It's gotten thinner and thinner over the years, as well as going from a monthly to bimonthly publication BUT all the articles in it are really good science articles and lets you stay up to date with a lot of things in research be it fringe science or close to commercialisation.

yeap, we can find out many info if we know where to look in the net these days, trade off is TIME and bandwidth.

This deal for Time is pretty good consider it gets you 1.89 an issue, where they offer me 2.15 an issue for 3 years.. with no gift…

I think we need to paid for quality news, economics, political journalism
that brings true balance of view
one that slams down wrong doings of on NSA ASIO, shows the greed of cooperate elite not voice for them even in the face of apparent wrongs they commit.

        • Looks like one of the 'greedy corporate elite' may have negged you, jackau.

I have +1'd in your favour.

      • So do these guys provide fair coverage or is it just more right wing trash like News Limited and many other mainstream networks?

  • The cost is $99.90 - I first read the title as $9.99.

Lol 1 year or 9.90 for 54 Hard Copies with 2 Free Watches ! That would have made Current Affairs News dude :P

      • Heh, well the normal price on Amazon is $30 for a year, which probably made me think it was under $10 to be a bargain. http://www.amazon.com/TIME/dp/B00HG0SYAK

That is for the US version though. Probably don't get a watch either.

Haven't they refused to name Julian Assange and Snowden person of the year despite winning the popular vote both times?

And that's why I don't read it. You can't chow down on pro-government appendages while winning the hearts and minds of the people. It's one way or the other.

  • Is this the proper Time magazine or the localized Australian/Asian version?

    • "South Pacific edition"

      • Ok, so it's not the real Time then.
