$180 recharge voucher will give you 12GB and 365 days to use it.

    Done deal! :D

  • +1

Too late, looks like they removed the recharge voucher all of a sudden.

  • Cant see nothing about no voucher??

    • to the right of the price on the product page, there should be a Hot sign and below it stating 'includes $180 recharge voucher'

  • Says includes $180 recharge voucher for me.

    • Does your order say $180 recharge as a seperate item?

      • No, but it says it on the details page. Should it be showing as a separate item in the cart?

        • No idea, my order doesn't show it either but I recall last time DS had the 4G prepaid wifi deal which included the $180 voucher it did show it as an item.

        • Yeah, I recall that too. Just screen cap it and take it down there. If they don't honour it just cancel the order.

        • Yeap will be cancelling it if they don't include the recharge.

I see "Includes $180 Rechange Voucher!". Ordering one.

  • -1

Can it be unlokced and used on optus? Quick please ;-)

    • +4

The device is a ZTE MF65. A Google search indicates that it can be unlocked.

  • +1

Sweeeeeeeeet ! Just reserved on OP. I've got a 4G device already - I hope to use the voucher in my 4G device and probably give this to someone.

Edit: Just spoke with the guy at Dick Smith - he says that they got the email that it's a pricing error so they aren't allowed to honor it. It's a pricing error :-(

  • only click and collect, the order print out does not state it includes the $180 voucher…

  • +1

spoke to Brendan from highpoint who confirmed that it was for a new modem coming out for tomorrow and even though I have printed off the website where it says $180 recharge voucher he can't honor it.

New modem costs $199 which will include the $180 voucher

The $180 voucher logo has now disappeared…… this may be a con.

  • I just reserved it but no 180 voucher. Can anyone post me a screenshot as I didn't capture it?

  • still shows the voucher…..

PM me for a screenshot if you really need it

  • There's no way this will be honoured. It's clearly a mistake, and Dick Smiths have rejected mistakes before.

  • Wait so does it include the voucher or not?

  • +2
  • If they don't honour the $180 voucher I will be cancelling my order. Thanks for the screencap tho. At least I can plead my case with it.

  • Just got a phone call from Dick Smith saying the offer was not valid and was put up in error.

  • -6

Just called up the nearest store with stock. They claim the website is incorrect and won't honour it. It's apparently $199 including the voucher. Might be time to give the ACCC a buzz?

Might be time to give the ACCC a buzz?

You're kidding right??? No store is bound by mistakes in advertising.

  • Just got a call from DSE Highpoint, said it was an error.

    Oh well.

  • Will be interesting to see when they change the webpage…. Now that stores have taken calls.

  • +1

Yep, just rang Hollywood .incorrect ticketing, meant to be $199. Stick your deal up your… Dick smith

    • And ive tried officeworks- They dont sell that model

  • not going to bother clearly an error

  • All the stock has mysteriously vanished just as i placed my order.

  • Ahhh! Order went through for me. But called the store and they received notification that this had incorrect pricing. should be $199!

  • geeez! i've just placed an order (with the $180 recharge voucher) and returned successful. then saw this page updated :(

    • Same. Probably no point in cancelling since the offer was a mistake at the wrong price. Oh well.

  • Seems almost every time I order from DS, it's a pricing error.

    • +1

      Neg away, Dick Smith fanboys.

      • +1

If the only time you order from them is for something that's clearly a pricing error, then what do you expect??

        • +2

The only things I expect from Dick Smith are pricing errors.

  • The same model is at TGG for $39 excluding the recharge

  • Last time they had a similar pricing error with $180 voucher, they honored them. Too bad this time is different. I thought I will get lucky again. Hopefully next time there is a good promo for $180 voucher.

    • Yep when Woolies owned DSE (thanks got that deal…thanks OZB :)

  • i ordered click and collect

Lets see if they call me and honor it

    • They called me and dishonoured it.

      • +1

they just sent me a text that its ready for collection .. On my way

        • +6

and then they called me to cancel the order

        • Had you left?

        • thank god no, otherwise would have made a scene their lol

  • Lame, was just phoned by DSE and had the order cancelled. At $39 it's a bargain. At $139 it would be questionable. At $199? What a rip! Screw that.

  • +2

I just got a text message to say mine was ready to collect…

And I get approximately the same(10.8 gb/$15) from vodafone 95% network on a routine basis, only I don't need another 3Gmod. Does it not appear suspiciously like a marketing✓experiment

The voda I hear people extend w/ those $2sim cards, only I see no way youre granted the 12g.

    • -1

hmm this is a charm. shielding an 'error that only a handful could possibly get.. yep ' :-/

  • +1

webpage is now updated with no mention of voucher

  • Cancelled also :) Was fun for a few minutes.

  • 'Fun.' 'till they eventually get a fine[✓].
(..or civil penalty as it were)

Won't happen. Every store makes pricing/product mistakes, and they're not held liable for them. It was pretty clear from the start that this was a mistake.

      • -1

Pleading all incompetence can get one so far, which is why I say eventually, and until, being of a the guilty pattern the offender might make hay whilst it last. oh, & it's retailer. Surely stores don't advertise.

    • Everyone knows it was too good to be true. No loss that they didn't and obviously couldn't honour it. No skin off my nose.

  • +1

The life of an ozbargainer can be full of rejection. In this case the fact that DS quickly called people up to tell them of an error should be sufficient to placate the disgruntled. I personally get very annoyed if they just wait until we turn up then say it was a mistake. That is a lot closer to bait and switch. There is always a chance when we buy these that it is a mistake but to me it was not obvious, as the device itself is $39 at at least one other place, and the extra is a voucher for a service that requires separate activation. As such it was not way out of wack as a once off special.
I remember the HP touchpads for $99 that were not a mistake and sold out within an hour or so.

It is not up to us to police retailer's errors, they are the ones who need to get their act together.

Our time is precious, and the more a retailer makes mistakes, the more their reputation heads to junk.

If we were talking about a $30 voucher, I'd agree that it wouldn't be an obvious price error. A $180 voucher means we're talking about an unheard of saving for 12GB data, and then a free modem to go with it. Pretty obvious to me that it's a pricing / listing error.

Yes, it sucks that it was an error, and they should have practices in place to prevent it, but the threats of calling the ACCC on them for it or suggesting they should be fined is ridiculous.

  • Sydney CBD store on George have neither called me or emailed at all to confirm or cancel. Not expecting anything out of it now anyway.

  • +1

I have not had a call to cancel but got SMS saying its ready to collect at 1pm (almost 8hours ago). Site STILL says "Includes $180 Rechange Voucher!" although they can spell recharge but we know what they mean. Its listed in the search page (http://search.dicksmith.com.au/search#w=TELSTRA%203G%20WiFi%…) The product page no longer has it but still has the HOT logo.

If its still there in the morning and I don't get a call I will go and see. Ifs saying it still has the recharge listed a day later I think they should honour it.

  • can sim be used in an ipad?

  • Normally these come with some sim and data plan. Anything on these now or just bare device?
