Thanks OP, but I'll be waiting for a similar deal on bankwest zero platinum

  • this has been up for a few months now, good deal

  • sounds good. Any idea what the maximum transfer allowed is? And do you need to send actual statements or just provide a dollar amount?

    • Last time when I have transferred the balance, all they needed existing credit card detail.

    • min $500 and up to 95% of approved credit limit

  • Can they transfer to mortgage account? waive 1st ANF? no application fee?

  • Just a warning about BankWest's fraud prevention procedures:

A friend of mine had his wallet stolen and BankWest allowed thousands of dollars to be withdrawn from consecutive ATM cash advance withdrawals (at 4:00am no less) without their fraud detection system catching wind of it. Any bank worth its salt would have barred the card after two such withdrawals as it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realise this behaviour is highly suspicious.

Not only that, they are being massive pains in the ass about refunding his money.

To put this in perspective, Citibank (one of his other card providers) allowed only $500 to be withdrawn before barring the card and refunded his money within 48 hours.

The obvious question is, how did the thief know his PIN? This is a moot point as regardless of whether the PIN is used, these were obviously suspicious transactions and should have been blocked.

  • How we can combine this deal with the balance transfer deal from citi bank? (ie six months interest free cheque to self)

It's great to be able to visit my local Bankwest branch on the weekend - they are open 7 days!
