SanDisk 64GB Cruzer Blade USB Flash Drive $25.99 at ALDI

560

There are still about a dozen left at ALDI Ringwood VIC, clearance price. They also got some 32GB micro sd card for 14.99. I know this usb drive is slow, but it is the lowest price I have seen.

  • What is a recommended USB key for use with an XBox 360? I borrowed my sisters for a few weeks and I have a few games on the Gold Account I can download to it. Eg. Sleeping Dogs and Halo 3.

Is this 'slow' USB key ok for XBox gaming?

    Regards
    Daniel

Keep in mind the Xbox can only support USB devices up to 32gb. Buy a cheaper 32gb USB 3 rated flashdrive, should be fine.

      • Ended up going to Harvey Norman and getting three 8gb Sandisk Cruzer blades (in a pack) for AU$16 (advertised for $19). I figure I can download the games onto two of the keys and the third can be used for normal use.

As an FYI, the Sandisk Cruzer Blades seem to be popular choice for Xbox 360 users.

        • Hate to say it but I think the 8gb ones are going to run dry pretty quickly given the size of the games. From memory reading the internets, loading games off flash drives wasn't significantly faster than running off the hard drive (i.e. installed to hard drive).

        • Was at HN QV building (Melbourne) today and they were back up to $24 for a pack of three.

It's <5MB/s write slow. That's a whole lot of frustration to fill 64GB.

We got one… Haven't done any speed tests, but it records TV fine in a TV with PVR function. It plays back video and audio recordings of any quality without issue (when plugged into a WDTV or Android tablet). Copied the contents of another full 32gb stick to it in less than 3/4 of an hour, which seemed reasonable for USB2.

Probably no rocket ship, but it's doing what is asked of it.

      • Thanks for this, exactly what I'm after a 64GB for

      • If you really did, then that's better than 11MB/sec write which is not too bad but disagrees with what others here are saying. About half of the best you could expect for USB2

      • what TV is it that you are using the USB stick with it?

Am thinking of getting this for the Sony 50" smart TV recently for $747. I hope it will work fine.

I have the 16G of this. Painfully slow. I'd suggest avoiding if speed is an issue

  • Not a good idea, a bit too slow.
Definitely not recommended for those who want fast transfer for big files.
Friends have them, and it is painfully slow to copy stuff… Eg movies music

If the 32gb micro sd card is the same as the one I got from aldi it is cl4 sandisk.

I wonder what the read speed is like? I want to use it as the ultimate usb boot drive with all OS images and rescue disks, so read is much more important than write.

Because the connector is made of plastic, after about 1 year of use it will start to break. I wouldn't use this as my day to day usb.

  • USB 2.0?

  • aldi moonee ponds insisting the 32G micro SD is $24.99 - despite the sign showing reduced to $19.99.
if it was $14.99 maybe….not worth the argument.

  • hate it there's no ALDI in WA

Can anyone with a vita please let me know if you can download any of the star wars battlefronts off the psn and for how much? Cheers.

  • Got 2 x 64G for $24.99 each from Aldi Dandenong. Plenty left.
    I'm happy. :)
Thanks a lot OP for sharing.
