Free University Short Course: Network Security Administrator Certification

814

This short course is designed to partially prepare you for certification as an EC-Council Network Security Administrator (ENSA). The ENSA certification program looks at network security from a defensive view. It is designed to provide fundamental skills needed to analyze the internal and external security threats against a network, and to develop security policies that will protect an organization’s information. Students obtaining ENSA certification will be able to:

• expose system and network vulnerabilities and defend against them.
• evaluate network and Internet security issues & design
• implement successful security policies and firewall strategies

The short course will be run over 5 weeks with lectures being delivered via weekly after hours webinars (recordings of the Webinar will be available if you are unable to make the live event). In between the webinars, you will be asked to do 10-12 hours of study.

  • Hard?

  • Thanks!

  • Always intended on doing the IT masters program through Charles Sturt University but life and work keep getting in the way. A short course looks good and this one is very relevant.

    registered, thanks :)

  • Thanks, this is good to refresh stuff

  • thanks I'm interested

so what else do I need for the certification?

  • CSU is good!

    • LOL, someone cant type….

Oops! Looks like a dev slip up - have fixed that one, thanks for pointing it out.

  • +5

    how much for the certification?

    • UpSkilled have it on their site, full course is $1775 with them so I'd expect a similar amount. It's probably dearer if they don't confirm the price, lol.

  • +1

Will we get actual Certification if we pass the test?

    • From what I've read, no. You will get certification if you pay the full course amount and pass the test at the end, but just doing this free short course component, you won't get you a cert.

      • Maybe..

But it will give you a basic understanding of the course
It will give you a certificate of course completion and allow you to add it to your resume
It will cost you absolutely nothing so if cannot be a bad deal.

Whats your reason for your neg?

        I agree with NewyHaggis.

The title of this deal suggests that the "Free University Short Course" on offer is a "Network Security Administrator Certification", when in fact there is no certification being offered for free.

        Misleading deal title.

This is more like an ad not a bargain

  • +6

Please rename post "Free University Short Course on Network Security Administration" and move to forums as not a bargain.
Course is always free, not offered as a payable course.

The test at the the end is a sample test from the Certification.
No Certification is offered on completion of the course and no university credit is given for completion.

EG see detail from previous course for "CISSP certification:\

Q3: Will the course qualify me for university credit?

While the short course by itself will not qualify you for credit, completion of the CISSP certification will qualify you for one credit in the Master of IS Security or Master of Management (IT- Security) degrees at Charles Sturt University.

Q4: Is there a final exam?

Yes – there will be a CISSP certification practice exam at the end of the course. The exam is a timed, open book exam that you will sit at your computer.

Q5: Do I get a certificate if I complete the course?

Yes - Those who pass the exam during the official sitting period (Wednesday August 21 – Wednesday August 28) will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Although I defended the bargain. I do agree the title is misleading.

Also if this is always free then I also agree is shouldn't be posted and put in the forums.

No certification, NO DEAL! *crosses arms and flails as if on the game show

  • I am hearing impaired. Do they provide English subtitle so I can read what the lecturer say?

    • Also, can we download the videos? I may miss the web seminars.
