My local Woolies had one area last night containing promo items for Xmas (only 8-10 items left), Australia Day thongs & singlets, Valentine's Day chocolate roses, and Easter hot cross buns. They must hate January for the amount of weird promo crap they have in store compared to, say, August.
These pies are horrible. Fruit mince pies and christmas cake are a tradition of poor taste that thankfully seems to be fading.
Saw them for 30 cents Padstow woolies.
Don't think mince pies are so popular this year.

These are free at Preston South VIC. 1 trolley-full left (along with free chocolate calendars and candy canes).
These pies are not bad. For the amount of calories involved per dollar it's extremely cheap.
My local store discounted them to 85c/packet but still had huge stacks left. Gotta make way for the hot cross buns…
