  • I have a problem. Every time when I choose a date I get a error says:

"Please ensure that your departure date is not within 24 hours from the time of booking
Please change class or dates selected"

no matter what I choose it's always like that and if I choose just one way flight is says the same :/

    • You didn't mention if you were signed up to Grab a Deal and signed in at the time.

Did you read my comment about that requirement? If so, then it may be another issue.

Hope you can book by being signed up and signed in.

Nobody seems to think much of this offer, but it's good to be on the list in case MH comes out with an almost-free offer to match/beat Air Asia…

As always, try to make sure you are following all of the conditions, be signed in and then report your success!

  • Anyone know what dates are available for the MEL-KUL leg?

    • The second line of my post has: Travel period: 6 Jun - 15 Dec 2009.

You will need to click on the signup link and join Grab a Deal to get the fare. I think that is why smogg9 couldn't get the fare.

After you have joined and are signed in, try dates within the travel period. If your preferred date is sold out, try a few days around yyour dates, or a few weeks, until you see the fare.

Remember, the offer states it's only May 30-31 so try ASAP or potentially miss out.

Has anyone booked while being signed up and signed in?

  • *Fares quoted are for one way economy class travel ex Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane/Adelaide per person and include taxes, fees and fuel surcharges, correct as at 27 May 09.

Yep, this is now required by law:

The travel industry has been warned there will be no grace period for changes to the Trade Practices Act to outlaw component pricing, by which a supplier advertises a price that doesn't include additional taxes and charges.

The changes were enacted last week […]

Samuel says Tiger Airways was sailing close to the wind when it dared to advertise "free" air fares this month that did not include compulsory taxes and charges, now an illegal practice.

However, he said other airlines, such as Jetstar, may also have to alter their website booking procedures, which until last week were still providing a "headline"' price that excluded taxes and charges that take the total price (revealed pages later in the process) much higher sometimes double.

And foreign travel retail websites, such as US-based Orbitz, were warned they also could find themselves in trouble as the ACCC awaits a clarification of the law about the definition of doing business in Australia.

"It doesn't matter where they originate from," Samuel says of such websites and travel retailers. […]

  • one way :-(

  • Has anyone managed to make a booking? I get smogg9's error, even when trying to book in accordance with all the terms and conditions. I think there may be something wrong with MAS' booking system, for International routes at least…

Either way, you can get return fares to Asia for a comparable price during the same travel period: http://www.travel.com.au/international-airfares/cheap-flight…

  • I can't even sign up

  • I managed to sign up, and there're Nov trips to KL for 362 both to and fro…without tax inclusive. -wry- With tax it's a whopping 1000ish.

Though if the deal for Sydney->KL is taken, what happens if I try for a KL->Sydney leg one-way? If I search under the booking I get 793MYR..which is about 300AUD. Yet if I search under Sydney->KL and take just the price of the return leg, it's 362AUD -before- tax. ._.

    • If you're signed in and don't see the advertised prices for any dates, then either there were only a token/tiny number of tickets, now all sold or the special wasn't loaded.

It unfortunately appears that there were few tickets offered. :(
If I find more info from other sources I'll add a link to it.
