Weber One Touch Silver $159.98 (RRP $299), 1kg Chia Co $19.79 @ Costco Auburn (Membership Req'd)

140

Was browsing my local Costco and stumbled upon the Weber 57cm One Touch Silver Kettle for $159.98. Almost 50% off RRP. Not sure if Masters will price match; someone give it a go and let us know!

Also stumbled upon Chia Co's 1kg black chia seeds (In the sugar/flour aisle) for $19.79 which is the cheapest I've seen.

This is a brilliant BBQ. Webers are known to have great build quality which lasts. I own a Weber One touch Gold. Great find by OP.

True that. Although not a lot of moving parts, I'm still so happy with mine. Best thing for a rental property, too, to have a BBQ. Have you found that if you roast meat (using indirect heat) it never comes out tough/dry? I have done everything from fish to lamb, and not once have I been disappointed.

I always cook at indirect heat. It cooks the meat properly while still keeping it juicy and maintaining the flavour. :)

It takes bit of time to do it but worth it.

Does Costco have an expiry date on deals like this? Or is it a "while stocks last" situation?

    • That particular price isn't part of any coupon discount and could be part of their clearance of summer items.

My parents bought their Webber before I was born (1987) and I still use it to this day, can't beat the taste!

assuming this is one of the charcoal grill webers. I found one of these on the street some time back and am loving it - baked a 2.5kg atlantic salmon Xmas day and it was incredibly delicious if I say so myself. A little shocked at the $300 RRP though

  • Apparently Masters will comp this price if you take a pic of the product at Costco

    Aus stock or grey import?

    • Does it make a difference?

      • Yes, the Australian spec Weber has a better quality grill and comes with a recipe book. Still not worth the premium but it would make this an even better deal if it is Aussie stock.

        • My US one came with V grates, Charcoal baskets, and a lid hanger ;)

For those still deciding on the price, here's an easy calculation for you guys. :)

Random Kmart/Bunnings/Aldi Charcoal BBQ. $100. Crappy and flimsy build quality.
Replace every couple of years or so… parts breaking down, getting rusty, etc. So over 20 years cost is, 100X10 = $1000

    Weber One Touch Gold/Silver. $400/$300
Last you 20+ years with normal TLC. Well designed and quality build.

Mrs wasn't happy with me spending $400+ on the BBQ 4 or 5 years back. Now she says it's the best quality purchase we have ever made. :)

  • Still around 12 boxes left @ 5pm in Costco Auburn.

I would get onto this for those looking for a superb charcoal
BBQ - this deal is even better than the Ray's 33% off a few
years ago (and now they exclude Weber from those deals); and
generally nowadays the most you would get would be 10% off
    +/- another 10% with Masters.

  • Can anyone repost the link to image? Doesn't work any more.

  • Must be chrome. Every-time I click on link it just brings up this page.

Anyhow was able to price match at masters.

    $144.
