D-Link DIR 868L Router $152 ($102 with $50 Cashback)

60

Dlink DIR-868L wifi-AC router is $152 at Centercom ($179+ elsewhere)
Also D-link are offering $50 cashback on this model, bring it down to $102

NB there's no Modem, it's just a wifi router, good for those on Cable/NBN.
It does both 2.4 & 5 Ghz bands, with the new 802.1AC standard for faster 5Ghz speeds (if you have a device to use it). Whirlpool kiddies seem to give it good raps, not as good as the Asus RT AC66u, but with cashback about ½ the price.

Here's a review here.

  • I have this router. I was weary of getting a D-Link but no real complaints. $102 for an AC1750 is pretty good.

    • Stability was a big issue on 1.02 but seems to be fine now (I run 1.07B2)

    • Dual stack IPv4 + IPv6 / DHCPv6 works fine (I have it hooked up to a cheap $20 TP-Link TD-8817 in bridge mode doing modem duties)

    • It does run DD-WRT but reports scary high temperatures (85-92'C) which I hope are wrong.

Called centrecom and they said they are not participating in the promotion. Checked d-link and can't find centrecom as an official retailer.

    • It would be good if they actually listed which are the "participating stores" are on their web site…

      • the t&c basically says its for oz/kiwi official stock, not ebay/grey imports.

  • Hi we have double checked with the relevant department and there is a $50 manufacturer cashback http://www.centrecom.com.au/d-link-dir-868l-wireless-ac1750-…

  • thanka for clearing it up!

  • Hard to upgrade when they paid me for the last one…

  • Is there a shipping cost or can pickup in store?

  • The router seems to be back on special at the moment for $153-$50=$103.
