  Obviously good because it's higly rated last time and now,

  I currently use Picasa, so how good / easy to use is perfect effects 8 ? Is it like Photoshop but easier ?

    It's more akin to the Nik plugin suite, but also works as a standalone; nothing like Photoshop at all.

    Highly rated on Ozbargain just means it's free, not that it's a good image editing package. It's decent enough, but no 'one click' solution is ever going to be particularly good. Personally, I think you are better off with a cheap copy of PS Elements and a tutorial book.

    I own Perfect Photo Suite 7 (the previous version) and use it in combination with Lightroom 4. It's a great package and the Perfect Effects module is the one I use most.
