EB have had this price for months and months now. No-one has listed it as a bargain because, well, it isn't.

    • The lack of Nintendoland makes it a fairly unwise purchase. I mean, you can just get the Skylanders + Nintendoland + Basic at Target for like $250.

But I think that's over. Sorreh gaiz.

      • How can you 'just get' it then if it's over?

Lol, op are you being funny or sarcastic?

$278 for a used console that is slowing dying due to bad managment by nintendo

    nah

    put it towards a ps4

    • I'll put it towards a ps4 when there's something to get on PS4.

Which currently, there isn't. Arguably, Wii U has more exclusive worthwhile games at present than both competing 'next-gen' consoles combined, plus it's half as expensive and family-oriented.

But you know. Don't quote me when Uncharted 4 or the Last of Us 2 comes out because this comment will be outdated by then.

      • Wolfenstein and the order 1886 will keep me happy between dipping back into my pile of shame

Order looks nice. But so did Thief. And with the reviews rolling in putting it at about 65ish shows what rebooting beloved franchises with a smearing of modern-fps-grime does.

But you know. Despite that I'm super hyped for Order. Remind me to get it when I get a ps4 in 2015/16

My Wii U get more use than my Xbox One and PS4…

      • My PC gets more use than my ps3, xbox360, 3DS, DS, Wii, WiiU, N64, Gamecube, Ps2, Xbox, Playstation, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Colour, Gameboy original, Super Nintendo, Ps1, and Atari COMBINED!

And I don't even belong to the PC masterrace.

        • Good games will do that.

  • My friend bought that new at target some time ago during a sale for $289 for the premium one save $140 or something at the time…
So i would wait for the next big sale..

Or look on eBay. I saw one go with 9 games for $240 plus $25 del.

    • Yep sure. My friend, who is like Itawa's BBF bought one for like $189 and I saw one on eBay with 20 games for $230 plus $24 del.

glad i got the wii u from dicky smith when they had 50% off…. prices havent really come down for it.

  • +1

I got the premium just after release for $270ish, and that's the benchmark sale price which has happened several times since. I got another at dick smith just because it was $215 or something but I understand that was blind luck and won't ever be repeated.

Going on the repeated sale price of $270, a second hand unit without games shouldn't be worth more than about $200. With a game, $230. Anyone paying more needs to wait for a sale.

  • Here's a theory of mine if you're tossing up whether or not to buy a Wii-U:

I think, Nintendo has gotten rights to a new Megaman game, so they're using him in the new Super Smash Brothers to get everyone hyped up about Megaman again. After all, Nintendo has a subsidiary company of Capcom (the guys who make Wonderful101 and Bayonetta) doing exclusives for the Wii-U at present, so a Megaman game could be announced at E3 this year, which would be an incredible reason to buy a Wii-U.

However, this could be entirely made up rubbish considering Nintendo's recent direction. Meanwhile, at Nintendo's R&D Department: "DUUUUUUUUUUUH, MOAR MARIO GAMESH?! LETS THROW MOAR OF OUR BELOVED IP'S AT JAPANESE DEVELOPERS THAT HAVEN'T MADE A GOOD GAME IN 9 YEARS."

And thus, Metroid Other M and Legend of Dynasty Zelda: Hyrule Warriorss was born.

    • Megaman game could be announced at E3

      You're dreaming :P

      • +1

I realize. But don't you think it would be the single best thing to move Wii-U's? I'd buy one, and I already have one!

But Nintendo is too busy making terrible decisions.

    • Nintendo has a subsidiary company of Capcom?

      That logic…

PLatinum Games has nothing to do with Capcom. It even makes games for other consoles. It just happened to be that Nintendo is publishing Wonderful 101 & Bayonetta 2.

      • "former key members of Capcom's Clover Studio and still retains many other former members of the studio."

I realize they have little to do with Capcom NOW, but they have certain staffmembers that worked on Capcom projects, such as Clover Studio's Okami and God Hand.

I assume Nintendo can probably throw enough money at Capcom to get the rights to a whole new Megaman game. You can't blame me for being hopeful of Nintendo making at least one good decision this generation. But I did specify it was just a theory.

It's not like I said "HERE IS A SUREFIRE FACT BECAUSE EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET IS SURE TO BE 100% TRUE". And it's still better speculation than "Nintendo to release games on smartphones lolol! wildfire that was spreading a couple weeks ago. The stubborn bastards.

I would buy something like an Advance Wars reboot on iOS or Android for 3 bucks. In fact, I might even spend 5 dollars. Maybe. Don't push it though.

  • I wasn't kidding about the EBAY muppets bidding to over 300. Then they charge you for postage.

You could get yourself a used game for cheaper at any select store aswell.

You get it in black and all the plastic extras and some extra GB in storage.

Bread stuck in it? It's NOT A NES.

It's called isopropyl cleaning alcohol and then it's brand new.
