I've got 5 (very) old hard drives lying around that won't even mount as a drive letter when I connect them to my computer via usb. I just installed this software and it's working for the first drive I tried. I can copy recoverable files from the drive to my computer - a bit slow, but seems to be working okay. Not sure if there are files that are not recoverable, but is good to be able to get most of the files off.
How does this compare to TestDisk?
