    Thanx op :-)

  • Thanks OP, bought 2 :)

  • nice work!

    they're in headphones.com.au's top picks under $50:
    http://headphones.com.au/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6206

and much cheaper too! this deal: ~$23AUD for this deal vs $49AUD from headphones.com.au

  • These are awesome for the price, I've had them before and I used them for commutes because I wasn't worried about them getting lost or stolen. Sadly in one of my house moves, they broke. I'm going to snap up this deal.

    Thanks!

  • Do these hurt your ears after extended wear?

    • Depends how tightly you adjust the earhooks and it is only because of continuous pressure on the top of your ear which is very sensitive, similar to wearing glasses.

I would feel discomfort after about 7-8 hrs with these earphones, around 10-12hrs wearing the Koss Portapro, but can barely stand 1 1/2hrs wearing the Philips Downtown.

      • Thanks for the feedback. I'm wearing the Portapro now and because I've got a big head the clamping force on my ears is a little excessive and causes my ears to get sore after about 1.3 hours.

        • There is a slight sound difference between the KSC75 and the Portapro, you lose some of the bass but only because the earpads are not pressed against your ears.

Also buy some spare earpads when you order from Amazon, they are only $3.95 at the moment and shouldn't increase the shipping, and are much better quality than any of the cheapies on ebay.

    • They are the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn, after a while you forget they're there because they don't warm your head like circumaural ones, weigh next to nothing and don't put pressure anywhere - for me at least.

  • Thanks a lot
    they are awesome
i also got two of the headphone

  • Soundwise, one of the best headphones I've used\tried under about AUD200. Have recommended them to friends for nearly 10 years now. The ear clips are a bit retro, prone to popping out (they were subject to a lot of abuse…) and slightly uncomfortable vs in-ears (subjective…).

  • Good clip on headphone for its price. I used to have one, but plastic clips were untight and ear pieces Weren't in close contact to ears.

  • Great sound for a low price. Paid $40 for mine years ago and don't regret it :)

I'll vouch for these too. I vouch that they look like shit (why don't they just paint the things all black?) but they are great sounding headphones for the price — even at full AU RRP.

    • They look like absolute shit. I've had three pairs of these over time and paid over $50 from a local store each time. Highly recommended.

These exact headphones have been around for probably 10 years. A testament to their strength as a good pair of headphones. Koss knows what they're doing.

  • Lovely, thanks OP. I got the PortaPro's and was absolutely blown away by their sound. Can't wait to try these (and the M50x I have coming next week)

    • They do make an all black version it was or is called the KSC35's

I had these originally but I think the plastic clip broke after a few years, so I picked up like six pairs when in NYC in 2005 or so.

I've also owned and used KSC75's extensively, in fact still have a pair or two.

I swore by them until I tried In-Ear Monitors now I swear by them in fact picked up some Westone UM Pro 30's today thanks to OzBargain.

      • Nevermind, found what I was looking for :)

      • This one looks much cooler :D

How does one search for items in Amazon that ships to AU?

  • Fantastic sound and amazing value, only downsides are fairly poor isolation and over time the ear clips will become loose.

I've had these sitting in my drawer for years and just last weekend decided to pull them out and start using them again. I never liked the loose fit but I realised that i had a spare pair of replacement earpads that would fit. I'd bought the pads to replace the pads same crappy portapro ones and they fit on these too. The pads are the Senn PX100. They look much better, feel much better and create a better seal and sound. Solves the issues mentioned in the post above. A bit harder to get on the KSC75 then there were for the portapros but they go on all right. Highly recommend them for the portapros and I'm using them right now on the KSC75 and liking them a lot. They now sit nice and firm against my ears and give a better soundstage. A little heavier but still comfortable.

Now I'm wondering, should I buy another pair, just for the hell of it. There's a space in my drawer…

They look real comfy, but somehow it doesn't look like it'll fit? Keep us posted on the fit!

          There is some info on replacement pads here;

          Replacement pads for KSC75's?
          http://www.head-fi.org/t/468619/replacement-pads-for-ksc75s

        • I only have Porta Pros, they fit fine but I think they sounded better with the original foam pads. They aren't soft enough for them to squish on your ears to make a seal which I think makes it lose a little bass and volume. I only bought them cause the original pads wore out, guess I'll try another replacement pad.

  • cheeps OP. just ordered a pair.

  • Got them. Great little pair of headphones. Thanks again, OP

  • Thanks so much, needed something like this, bought 3 pairs, love them.
Amazing sound stage, phenomenal clarity, just wonderful to listen to great music, and shows up poor sources which to me is the sign on great speakers/phones.
Buy them even if you don't need them, they are worth the money. A must buy for anyone who would ever use them and is currently using average quality phones.
    Thanks again.
