  • Shame it has no HDMI!

    • @N3M3S1S

It sure is a shame, but this is perfect for anyone who wants a GPU which allows Dual Display

you should be able to buy a DMS-59 to hdmi adapter and get 2x HDMI output

  • it requires 2 slots for use and is only 256MB?

    • @the_brewer

      Its only one slot mate.

      • off your website
        Graphics Bus PCI Express x16 & x1

the leadtek website has a picture of 2 cards
        http://www.leadtek.com/eng/product/2/393/intro.aspx

Have you opened the box and physically had a look.
I was thinking this would be a good, cheap card for a microserver but if it needs both slots is no deal

        • @the_brewer

Yes i have checked the graphics card and it is solely a Low profile GPU and only requires 1 slot. This i can guarantee.

Those are 2 separate cards - you have the option of a PCIe x16 or x1 connector.

The output is a DMS-59 - splits out to 2x DVI via a short cable/dongle.

In short, yes, it's a single slot card.

      only 256MB?

I think you mean "only $29 delivered" - which yes, it is!

        @ryang

They should have a like button on OzBargain. Haha :)

        DR

        • they have, its called the + button…+

Does this fit in a HP microserver

    • it probsbbly fits but doesnt have hdmi out

please correct me if i'm wrong… quadros arent entertainment cards

      • you are correct, but see my comment above. you can get other adapters to suite

        • @nerd1

We do sell the HDMI to DVI Adapters for $9 here: http://www.jw.com.au/astrotek-hdmi-dvi-241-adapter-p-14674

        • doesn't carry audio

        • knackers has it

sure you can convert it to dvi but if the capability isnt in the silicon

this is a good card for the money and for the person its designer for (ie. autocad folks) but its not for htpc or games (see 64bit buss)

in this case, need DVI to HDMI. But this is moot if NVS290 doesn't support HDCP, which it seems it doesn't since it isn't mentioned at http://www.nvidia.com/docs/IO/40049/quadro_nvs_290_datasheet….

this is a good card for the money and for the person its designer for (ie. autocad folks)

With max digital resolution of 1920x1200, I doubt any modern CAD user would want it - was great 10 years ago.

        • resolution is fine… Most CAD users use 24inch monitors or under…

          The RAM is lacking

My Firepro has 2gb of RAM… this Entry Level Quadro has 256mb

        • yep, res is fine, been consulting for a few construction companies capitalised above $1bn and they all run modest 24" LCDs and fairly unimpressive PCs

        • no, its stupid naming by nvidia. The nvs cards are useless for cad, especially 3D. They're nothing like the high end CAD quadros

        • Why would you want HDCP? Get some better software that doesn't require it.

DVI-HDMI adapters are less than $2, but better to get a cable to suit.
No sound in this, but a lot of people use S/PDIF from motherboard or dongle to amp.

  • excellent price on entry level Quadro but it lacks any power to be of any use..

  • Would like this for HP Microserver, if it is suitable for a Linux HTPC. Anyone?
The built-in ATI graphics are not great for high-def video.

this is a great card to have for a Uni student, fabrication shop or for demonstration purposes..

great for Sketchup, AutoCAD… if you are getting this for Unigraphics, Solidworks, Inventor, etc you would be forced to limit yourself to basic models and small part assemblies.

  • Order placed, payment accepted, receipt/confirmation email promised but no email received. The site is for JW computers but this IS NOT who the payment goes to. I paid by paypal so there is some form of recourse if it goes wrong.

Is this genuine? Has anyone dealt with this company before?
