Did you know that winter is a wonderful time for growing vegies? It’s also a great way to find out how your food grows, discover tasty new ways to eat your vegies and win cool prizes.

To enter the competition*, you will first need to register (below) after 3rd March 2014. During registration you’ll have the chance to choose the seeds you’d like to grow. These will be sent to you, along with your competition planter stake, by Yates. Then plant the seeds and watch your #wintervegie growing journey begin!

I wonder how many kids will choose Broccoli ?

      Quite a few.

      Lol or spinach

Also quite a few. Our kids eat baby spinach leaves in/on/with plenty of meals. They often ask for more Broccoli.

      • Our kids eat…….

unlike what seems like the norm these days… im guessing you dont fill your kids constantly with sugar/salt loaded junk food tho?

We do try to give them a balanced diet.
The kids i know that refuse to eat fruit/veg seem to do so because their parents never do either.
At least primary schools seem to be doing a lot more with teaching kids healthy eating. Both schools our kids have been to have had in school gardening programs where the kids plant, look after and eat the produce.
