Just used this a few weeks back to watch the Aussies in South Africa for the cricket.

It buffers 30 minutes for each channel, so you can pause and "rewind"…no recording options though.

Easy to cancel online, and once cancelled, you can still watch until the 14 days are up (eg: cancel on day 11, but you still have access til day 14).

Never saw any credit card fees.

Am thinking of getting it again for the twenty 20 world cup :)

    Link to all packages:

    https://www.foxtel.com.au/foxtelplay/build/package?execution…

    • Yep T20 World Cup was exactly what I had in mind!

      • T20 WC is on Ch9 FTA

        • Pretty sure they are only showing the Aussie matches, and most likely the semis and the final.

The world cup actually started 3 days ago…

        • The minnow qualifying started 3 days ago, the proper world cup doesn't start until next week

        • Awwww…minnows have feelings too you know :(

    • How did you cancel? Via the website or phone? I can't find how to unsubscribe via the My Account webpage.

From memory, I went to "Change my package" or something like that within My Account on the website, then there was a "Deactivate" button there.

        • Thanks! I found a big deactivate button on the Foxtel Play website. I don't know why I was on their main Foxtel website.

Positive vote because free is free.

But I can't stand watching sport on Foxtel Play. 50Hz content like sport displays at 25p ie. half the framerate of a proper Foxtel broadcast. And that's before we discuss the video quality…

    ..but hey. Better than nothing.

Also used this for the cricket. Quality is not as good as normal foxtel but much better than any other streaming options online.

Be sure to watch your data allowance too. From their 'How it works' section:

"The amount of data consumed while watching Foxtel Play can vary by device, but the maximum data required per hour is 1310MB"

Used this for the Test series in South Africa and a mate also used my login on his laptop.

He then later opened his own account and tried to login on his laptop but couldn't - he got a message stating this device has already been used for a 14 day trial.

So you can't use multiple accounts unless you have multiple devices.

    • He probably could if he deleted cookies.

    Thanks, can watch Cricket WT20.

Thanks op. Just in time for T20 world cup. Is there a foxtel play app for Panasonic smart tv ?

  • +1

How is this and Foxtel Go still not available on more than just 'select samsung galaxy devices' on Android. BS!

  • +1

Also, there's free access to sky news national on the foxtel go app, no need to subscribe at all.

  • Just to let people know this doesn't work with Airplay on Apple TV.
Will work with apps on Samsung and LG Smart TV's though.
Makes it substantially less valuable to me, continuing my rubbish perception of Foxtel and Telstra.
