These bulbs are actually quiet good. and cheap too. I think they are phasing out the 23W bulbs. seems hard to fine it. Also do note that at one of the BigW they had each pack listed for $5. so it may be $5 for 4x1 of $10 for 4x2.

  • I'm not sure about these, I've bought cheap CFL before, they usually break within a month or two.
However, these are extremely cheap, probably below cost.

    • Wrong! I've had these Chevrons (BigW generic brand) installed at my place for more than a year and they are yet to blow up on me. They are no different to your Mirabellas. Go for 'em!

      • Your comparison is appropriate. Mirablla is not a high quality brand, just well known.

  • i have used them too. for over a year. them seem like a pretty good brand actually. and they dont look too cheap either

  • Ditto.. and the 23W are the ones to get if you want Bright light!!
They do take 30 seconds to warm up though..slowly increasing in brightness throughout that time. We had one in the bathroom and guests were freaked out by the "illusion" that the place was getting brighter..

  • just for a comparison you could be paying something like $6-$8 for a single Phillips 20W CFL. so to get 8 for $10. cant go wrong. Oh they are normally $11 for a 4 pack.

  • Bought a single pack of 4 at lunch for $5 in Brisbane.
They are the compact 'twirly' type which are better in my opinion.

    • both the spiral and straight ones are on special. but ur right, the spiral ones are supposed to give more light.

  • Chevron make the best spiral CFL lamps I've used, good colour, long life. Woolworths always stock lots of Edison Screw base (why?) but not enough bayonet. They're a real bargain for $1.25 per globe.
