I had one batch that I couldn't get the smell out from the slip agent, even after numerous washes. Put food into them and ended up having to throw out the food because the smell went through them and affected the taste. I've never had a problem with them in the past, but must have gotten a bad batch.
I contacted the company asking for suggestions on how to deal with the smell, and to say the response I got was 'unhelpful' would be the understatement of the century.
Don't expect these to be airtight or watertight. The sealing ring might give you that impression, but all the ones I have leak badly.
If you put water in them, you can empty them in less than a minute, with the clips and seal in the correct position. No squeezing necessary, gravity is sufficient.
Learnt this the hard way, but I've also found Decor to not remain water tight in transit, due to the plastic easily deforming when knocked and the lids popping off as a result.
Tupperware doesn't have this problem, but I simply don't have the money to spend on Tupperware.
Agreed; unlike Lock n' Lock/Oxo/Decor, Sistema are not true airtight nor watertight.
bought many of these and they are rubbish. Seals break and leak, clips snap off and plastic just not durable. If you want seriously top quality containers buy Tupperware. their stuff aint cheap just its amazing and u get life time guarantee.
Got a couple of little ones to store my USBs and SD cards. Shame it doesn't include the Bakery range. Really wanted a few of them.
These seem to be a lot like Coke and Pepsi, seem to be heavily discounted (normally 50% off) at least once a month between either Coles or Woolies. Saying that though, these have become my favourite plasticware (as opposed to Decor and Tuperware).
