      You can't choose, unless you have both games. But you can easily obtain the other one from GTS or Poke Transfer.

    Man, I remember when there was some Pokemon tour thing going around Australia many years ago and if you brought along your cartridge + had one space free in your party, you were able to acquire Mew.

    Good times, good times.

      I got Mew (Pokémon Red) from a tour and then Celebi (Pokémon Gold) from a tour, also competed in the Pokémon Trading Card league and collected a few of the badges and promo cards from it. My opponent and me would just sit down and mess around for a few min and then tell the judges we had a draw and we both got pts lol.

      I still have that mew in my red cartridge. I caught/traded all 151 pokemons, and trained them all to lvl100. Took forever. Mew was last of them, and on the day after I got my mew to 100, I learnt about the Cinnebar island glitch…. FML

      Yep, there was one held at Warringah Mall in 2000 (or was it 1999? Anyway, prior to the release of Pokemon Yellow) so around 15 years ago. I double dipped on both cartridges (I had red and blue)
      So much cred was associated with Mew back then. In contrast to this: I thought Magma and Electrobuzz were/are pretty stock standard (able to be obtained in friend safari)so I don't really get the hype around this… Unless one of them is your 'spirit' (favourite) pokemon. Mine is Zapdos (probably the weakest of the original bird legendaries but the most badass)

      Also is there anything good about Cherish Balls other than the fact they look unique and are rare?

        yep, got mine from WM as well. Remember playing trading card game at the stand with couple mates after we got the new. Good times.

    We just walk in, and tell them to hand over the Pokeballs? Might get Electrabuzz, with electricity prices rising and all.

    Just realised, the Pokemon you get, relies on the version of Polemon you have.

    Sorry to burst bubbles but according to the link the pokemon is game dependant.

    "Pokémon X owners will receive the Fire-type Pokémon Magmar, whilst Pokemon Y players will receive the Electric-type Pokémon Electabuzz."

        Magmar is pretty cool IMO, I remember watching the episode where the Gym Leader had a Magmar, and he was trouncing Charizard I think… Though I must say, googling the evolution now, looks stupid as hell

    I wouldn't call this a bargain, technically (though it does save a lot of effort getting them otherwise!). Distributions for Pokemon happen quite frequently.
    There isn't anything particularly special about these two either, other than the Cherish Ball they're received in and having their hidden abilities.

    Still good for people to know about though :)

        Technically a bargain, maybe. You are getting something for free.
        But then that is the normal price for distribution pokemons, and no one is selling these for a higher price (yet).
        Maybe Broden will be selling them on eBay.

        I would have thought it potentially a forum post, but then I might not have seen it at all.

        53+ people think it is a bargain.

    I tried going into eb games to collect a code but was told only major stores in Sydney & one in Newcastle are offering the event. Is it possible for anyone or a rep to pm a pokemon y code? I can't justify spending a tank of gas to go into the city.

    I went to my local JB, which is a fairly small one, and they had heaps. I only asked for one but I don't think there was any major restrictions; within reason I guess. They probably had a stack of 100???

    So far no Target has any idea what it's all about.

    EB Games were nice enough to give me a bonus code so I'm happy to give it away to first person to reply :)

    My local EB just had the codes sitting out to grab as many as you wanted. Only one works per game though so it's pointless grabbing a few.

    If anyone can source one of these from their local eb could I pleassse have the code. The closest stores doing the promo are inner newcastle & sydney. I asked the store if they could just ring and write down the code but was turned down :(
