Honolulu Return ex Sydney $831 with Jetstar (Direct Flights)

1080

I was PM'd recently to ask if I could find a flight under $1,000 to Hawaii for their honeymoon. The deal was so good I thought I should post it. Outbound June 11, return June 23. Have no idea when these fares expire.

A one stop flight from Melbourne to Honolulu is available for around $970 on the same dates.

Apologies in advance for not being as thorough as my other travel deals, but I wanted to get this one out before I settle back and watch a movie with the missus. Enjoy your Saturday evening!

I don't get the Hawaii prices - back 10 or so years ago I went to Hawaii on two different trips, both of them were under $600 return with accom thrown in. Back then you couldn't get to LA for under $1500 return, and the Aussie $ was worth almost half the US $.

Most other flights have gone down yet you still can't get to Hawaii for a reasonable amount any more! I've heard a lot of Americans use their frequent flier miles to get to Hawaii so the rest of the prices remain high to offset that.

Yeah I did Hawaii 2 years ago for $600 return on Jetstar, and yeah 20 years ago the accom was virtually free. I think in part now it's people finding Hawaii affordable because of the exchange rate even if the airfares aren't so good.

FWIW, would not do Jetstar at $1k. If you pay for meals and entertainment and blanket the cost isn't so far off Qantas. But if you also consider the pathetically long checkin times due to low staff numbers, and much worse infligth service again due to low staff numbers, having to do your own bag transfers, I'd rather pay a bit more - flying is already crap and Jetstar just make it worse. IMHO of course.

But seriously allow at least 2 hours in Sydney airport to check in particularly if flying in from anther city, we allowed 3 hours and only just made the flight, and 2+ hours was standing in their queue!

Agree. Did Hawaii last year for 600 return on direct flights. Jetstar wasn't the most comfortable flight for this distance.

        Still, an excellent price

  • Hi, please keep posting these kinds of deals…awesome. I would love something in school holidays.:)

Guys, Jetstar's annual birthday sale is a month a way. Defiantly worth the wait!
