  • many a65 deals thesedays, oo, ebay group and now grays.

    • New a77 replacement is going to be announced very soon.

    • Yep, previous best was $639. And that was from eBay and a gray import. So i figured this one was worth posting.

Aussie Store, local waranty and TRS (GST) claimable if you've taken advantage of the numerous flight deals recently.

  • That's a lot of camera for not much coin.

I'd buy this in a heartbeat if I were still in the market for this level of DSLR (bought a K30 last year, ahead of the A57 and A65 which were both too expensive relative).

  • thanks I bought one - hopefully it will prove to be a good choice for me to get into some astro-photography …

    • +1

It certainly can be! What telescope and/or mounting gear are you going to hook it up to?

      • don't know yet - probably wait for a bargain to pop up somewhere ….

    • Fun! I mucked around with this on my old a55 and got some great shots out in the bush.

Get yourself a cheap remote shutter release or a remote control on ebay. Or just found this, looks very interesting:

      and this little feature

Star Trail photography is a mode especially designed for taking great photos of stars moving across the night sky

      very, very interesting

      • thanks - still working out all the bits and pieces i will need but this looks good

  • I got the a77, wonderful camera, a65 is the same sensor less a control wheel version of a77.
Not bad over all, need a good flash gun for low light, and you can shoot high res images beating the latest from rivals.

  • +1

How about new a77 + grip for $799. Sell grip for $200+ get a77 for $5xx.

    • good find. That camera has rave reviews. Note that the A77 is carton damaged stock and had no lens.

  • Great deal for aussie stock…tempting to upgrade from a580…
I use to upgrade my camera every 6-12 months but no longer find the need to upgrade. Started with a100, a200, 500 and own a580. Low light capability of a580 in my opinion is still better than a65 and 77.

    • I had the original Konica Minolta 7D before all the tech got bought by Sony. Then switched to the A55 and now have a new A7.

Slight regret about switching to the new E-mount so soon, so few lenses available at the moment. Need a mid range versitile (all in one) zoom lens to keep on the camera for grabbing quick shots when I'm travelling. But nothing exists yet.
