  • Very good price.
Though one problem for me is that it seems to be low sheen only.
Because I came to the conclusion (after lots of internet reading)
that for exterior paint (eg. Solagard) exposed to the elements,
gloss is much better than low sheen.
    Its longer wearing.

    • True… Though low sheen is more forgiving in terms of both application and surface…

It's also slightly more flexible so is slightly more resistant to substrate movement

      • Yes low sheen does hide tiny blemishes better,
but that's not as important outside IMO.

      • Havent checked prices or terms and conditons but some wattyl paints 4ltr (including solaguard) $10 off by redemption at http://www.wattyl.com.au/en/loves-your-local/cashback.html might be better for some.

        • it's got some weasel words in the t&cs "Purchase a full priced four (4) litre tin .."

          what is full-priced?

  • i was thinking semi-gloss for my houses exterior. i quite like the shiny finish, even if it shows defects more. i think gloss is a bit much. there is a huge leap in gloss from low-sheen, semi-gloss to gloss.

how does valspar compare to solarguard? they are both made by the same company.

the 15L valspar buckets work out to about $10.60/L with the discount.

  • Can you stack it with the 15% off vouchers they've been giving away at Caltex Woolies servo?

  • Damn it - I bought a tin on Wednesday for $69!

  • can you use the $10 off voucher ontop?
