  • Nice work :)

I have to find my parents some one way flights for later in the year, might play with the dates

  • Beware of Return Flight at 6:30am morning ! I will prefer get a Jetstar flight at anytime of the day with also extra 10% off

    • Jetstar price match has to be within the hour mate.

      • Not for international flights.

  • +1

Thanks, booked with Virgin Australia (AirNZ flgiht) at same price for more Velocity points.

  • $200 return with Jetstar at end of year departing Melbourne.

  • $200 return with Jetstar at end of year departing Melbourne.

  • Awesome price to an awesome city, I'll bite and book a trip over!!
If you find any good prices for the end of May I'll love you long time ;)

It is a dupe and becoming a smelly one, only 3 days ago by same poster

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/140856

    • +3

Really? Your link above is for Jetstar, or didn't you bother to check? And different prices to boot!

I'm sure the mods will remove your neg vote.

      • -1

I have to do a correction for you tightarse - the link is for Jetstar and this is for Air New Zealand but both are flying to Auckland. They are two different companies offering the 'same' service. Just like OW and TGG offering the same product.

But yes, the prices are different. If the previous deal is better than this technically isn't a bargain?

        • +1

If you prefer Air NZ over Jetstar, it may be a deal for you. One may not have the dates you want, whereas the other may. Not sure what all the fuss is about.

        • +1

If you prefer Air NZ over Jetstar,

          .

Just like OW and TGG offering the same product.

just sayin, no need for you to get me also banned from this thread like you did in the other one TA..

        • -1

That's like posting a deal of the ipad from Dick Smith and Big W and saying if you prefer to deal with DS then buy from them even though the products are the same but the price is more expensive. Do you see where I'm getting at?

However comparing differing dates for the flights is valid, that I agree with.

        • +4

          Hi Sleet.

So you reckon comparing an iPad from Dick Smith and BIG W is the same as comparing one carrier to another? To begin with, one is a product, and the other is a service. Secondly, some may have reward points with one carrier and not the other, so they prefer to have an option. Again, not sure what the fuss is about.

        • -3

If you're still not sure after my explanation then I'll leave it at that. I really don't know how to explain it further. Products and services, 'same difference'.

I love your other deals, but just pointing out a technicality in your post.

        • +2

I suggest 'same difference' does not apply here because the two services are different and are scheduled differently, whereas those iPads would be identical, but even then, some people live much nearer to vendor A or B.

        • +1

          two services are different

yes, that is a reason this is probably not a dupe

some people live much nearer to vendor A or B.

this is not, as already outlined by sleet. the same could apply to buying bananas from coles/woolies. they are going to be different bananas, and people are going to prefer one shop over the other, but you wouldnt accept 2 deals posted for bananas from 2 different shops would you?

        • The service is the same, i.e. a flight to Auckland. The companies are different, just like OW and TGG. Again, this deal is from Melb/Syd just like the last deal. So I'm not sure about your 'closer to vendor A or B' explanation.

Like I said previously, the only thing I agree with is the differing times that the companies offer.

When I said same difference, I merely meant a service or product are the same difference.

        • +2

You don't know how to explain it further because you're wrong. Different carriers offer different services. Even if that difference is small and insignificant to you, it may not be the same for others.Your analogy of iPads is not accurate because they are identical. An accurate analogy would be comparing an iPad with another tablet, purchased from different retailers. Different product/service from different vendors. Some may argue both tablets are the same because they perform the same functions, but others might disagree.

        • Technically they're both bargains.

          bargain
"a thing bought or offered for sale much more cheaply than is usual or expected."

If Emirates came out with prices +/- $20 I hope someone posts them as well.

        • +2

You're having a lend right? These are different airlines not different stores in the same shopping centre. They have different seats, meals, entertainment, service and probably aircraft. To say the deals are "the same product" is just ignorant.

    • -3

      Where's the dupe? Link please?

  • -8

Sometime less is more…..not the case with you!

    • +3

And a Happy Easter to you as well. Who got out the wrong side of bed this morning?

    • To be fair, it does technically look like a duplicate:

      What Should Not Be Posted
      Duplicates

Don't post duplicates (deals that are already on the site). Please search OzBargain before posting.

      Exceptions:

The original deal is a list of multiple items and the item is not contained in the title of the original deal.

      • +10

To be fair, it does technically look like a duplicate

        Hi smokenmirraz.

Not sure how you'd consider this a dupe.

One is with Jetstar, the other is with Air NZ.
One is for $211, the other is for $230 & $235.
One includes Christchurch, the other doesn't.
One includes dates in December, the other doesn't.

        • +5

This is why we can't have nice things

        • +3

Yes, I read your reply to vegimate above. It seems I'm not the only person whose comprehension skills this Easter morning are not up to scratch. All I saw was NZ in October for around $200 :) My apologies.

        • +1

          Cheers SnM.

        • To be fair, according to what you state, the Jetstar deal is cheaper, include more location at a more flexible date. This is enough reason to warrant a neg vote. I don't even understand why this deal got more positive vote than the jetstar one.

Air NZ Sydney to Auckland return is $235 in Nov.

And i am not sure if you find these fare or yasui found the the fare?

        • This is enough reason to warrant a neg vote.

Please feel free. No-one is stopping you. But please, don't question my ethics. I found the deal, like I always do.

If you don't like my deals, please ignore them, report them, or neg them.

          Happy Easter.

        • +1

Please feel free. No-one is stopping you.

actually i think the rules are quite clear on this, just not liking the OP is no grounds to neg a deal? unless you can point to where in the rules this would be ok?

      • Deals from different stores/providers are not duplicates. On OzBargain, every deal is linked to a store, so it is actually better to post separately so that each deal can be found under the appropriate store's deal listing page.

  • +3

Really? Now people are complaining because he posts deals?
Come on.. It's not like you have to pay every time him posts..

    • +4

Someone has it is for me jurong. But hey, that's ok. It's Easter and I get to eat my Lindt bunnies!

      • Someone has it is for me

i think maybe you brought a lot of it on yourself my friend

        • -2

Ye, you're right. Anything to make you sleep better. But please don't call me your friend.

  • +12

Thanks tightarse, don't worry about the idiots :)

  • +8

    What's with all these negativity?

Some people should get a life rather than waste time and insult others who is bothered to post bargain

This is a good deal, period

Dupe or not dupe. I don't give a rat's ass

    • I like the choice of having soft and hard tacos too…

  • +2

Some people prefer to fly with certain airlines so they can rack up airline points. I have Velocity Points so this deal is relevant to me. Thanks for adding.

  • -4

Another day, another bad deal. All is normal on ozbargain.

    • If it was such a bad deal it would not have got this number of votes. There have been many great deals recently, as is always the case here on Ozbargain.

      • -1

Well I do see a neg as well…

        • Gone now.

  • +8

Whoa people sure are grumpy today, only on ozbargain could people complain about someone finding them a deal.

Similar =/= same. Different price, dates, service (no two airlines are truly identical), rewards, flying times.

Enough with the trolling, this website is getting so juvenile. Keep up the good work TA

  • +2

I am with you TA. Although this deal may not be for me as I am in WA, it's still a deal. Ignore them and keep on posting

  • TA, can I please ask - how do you find these kind of deals?? Surely you don't just keep searching each airline daily!
Great work though, I wish I had your skills and could post bargain holidays regularly.

    • +1

Same way most people find travel deals. The homepage of the airline often has everything we need to post the deal, travel dates, exclusions and booking periods. It's not too much effort to post an airline deal as its often all there for you, just need to confirm the travel dates in a dummy booking and provide a few examples.

    • It doesnt take that much skills to find these bargain though it does take quite a bit of effort.
There are a number of budget airline that offer the cheapest price for certain destination( Jetstar, Air Asia to SEA)(AirNZ to New Zealand). If you just sit around and search for airfare to southeast asia with jetstar and Air asia, you will almost certainly find the cheapest fare. These airline do have many draw back such as no meal on board, no in-flight entertainment, no included check baggage. So you are pretty much get what you paid for.

  • VEGIMUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What's with the abuse and bullying towards TightArse in half the threads in last few days. Seriously demoralising for people who are actually willing to share deals with other people :(

Very sad to see such attitude from OzBargain members… I almost feel like there should be some kind of shadowban for users who have got certain number of their comments unpublished by the moderators.

    • +5

I don't see anyone flat out abusing him in this thread, simply questioning the details of the deal. Although some people have managed to take these questions and turn them into something that seems a little more personal.

While I do see critisizing comments, the only flat out negative and almost rude comment was posted above by the OP (TA) in response to a harmless joke.

Ye, you're right. Anything to make you sleep better. But please don't call me your friend.
