Haier DW12-TFE4SS Dishwasher $329 at Kambo's WA (Masters Price Beat $296.10)

120

I can't get the images to upload to OzBargain for some reason. Price tag and receipt here: http://imgur.com/a/zqXGS

Listed as $399 on the website. RRP $529. Spotted at Kambos Osborne Park as part of their "Cost + $1" sale for $329. Kind of weird since the white version was about $364.

I took a photo of the price tag, bought it to Masters, and they beat it by 10%. Masters sell it for $429 normally. They went to look it up on the Kambo's website, but I explained it was in-store only, and they asked me to email the photo I took to them. Masters didn't have stock, but they ordered one in for me.

If only I'd had some WISH cards purchased at 5% off, it would've been even cheaper.

  • How much they charge you for delivery and installation fee?

      I'm doing that myself

If you're not a licensed plumber and the thing leaks and water damages your house, insurance is invalid.

I've done it before. It's extremely easy to do correctly.

Ah, the old home insurance fairy tale. Never thought I'd hear it for a dishwasher. Better go warn everyone installing LED bulb deals to make sure they're all electricians.

Better get a plumber to hook up the garden hose too

So you get someone in to change your washers, right?

        • +1

If you can't tighten a normal tap fitting and tighten a screw then it probably is best if you called the plumber to do that for you.

  • No experience with masters price matching but do u reckon any chance of getting it done if I'm in Sydney?

    • Worth a shot. The policy just says australian retailer; there is no proximity requirement.

    • You can try and let us know :)

  • Nice one OP. If you are an Everyday Rewards member and got that little book full of vouchers last week, there is one which gives you $25 off at Masters (for $150+ purchases). Doesn't say anything about excluding Price Matching unless it is called an "offer".

Well I did give a wink and a smile to the woolies checkout chick last time I went through. Maybe they note these things down.

Haier dishwashers are utter crap. My one didn't wash well at the best of times and almost started a fire- albeit not this model. Have a look on most review sites, they are widely panned.

My old house had a Haier that was running fine for almost 6 years and is still going strong.

Great value for money. This one is fully metal inside rather than plastic. The handle feels cheap, but that's it (similar to a Bosch my mum had). Plus my credit card brings the warranty up to 3 years. If it dies after that, It's still money well spent. What do you think of Fisher & Paykel? They're made by Haier now.

I've also had a $300-400 Haier washing machine that washed better than my mum's fancy expensive Fisher & Paykel (from before they were purchased by Haier).

  • Has anyone had difficulty getting masters to price match this? I tried to purchase a fridge recently, and masters refused to price match as the item was labeled "special order item" on the website (as is this dishwasher).
    Is this usually the case?

    • It wasn't a special order item at my store. It was listed as low stock, but when I got there there was none. They put it on order for me. The clerk asked another if he should put it as a special order, and she said no because it's something try normally stock.

      • they normally stock*

Just consider quality before commitment of purchase. My mum previously owned a Haier "frost free" fridge, but the freezer box becomes smaller and smaller. Also a washing machine that can dance one metre from its original spot. (Also difficult to request after market warranty services - this happens in China)

Not sure if the quality had improved recently, but personally I will stay away from Haier.

    • Dancing washing machine… maybe it's the techno beats it plays during the wash cycle.

careful shopping at Kambos. The prices they advertise on their website are not honoured in store (even though there is no 'online only' clause stated or implied. Ironically when I tried to get the advertised price I was told that the only way was to go online and order it and then I could pick up the exact instore item a few days later. To buy in store immediately was an extra 50%.
On another occasion I was offered a special discounted price on a blender. I checked online with the manufacturer and the special price was $15 more than the RRP. When I pointed this out to Kambos they said that they could match the RRP. Went to Harvey Norman instead and was immediately offered the same blender for $10 less than RRP (before negotiations started).

  • Called the Osborne Park store a few seconds ago to check stock before heading to Masters for price match but seems like all have been sold :(

    • While the Masters policy does say it needs to be in stock; they didn't check when I bought mine.

  • We were given a haier dishwasher for free. It's utter crap. We tried it for quite a while but ultimately went back to doing the dishes by hand.
