The twin line trimmer + blower kit from Ryobi is a better deal imo. Typically $199 from Bunnings. I've had them for over a year now and they have stood up to regular use on a medium/large lawn. Also the batteries are compatible with the rest of the delicious one+ tools…

How about this reply to the forum post you made https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/141113#comment-1946506

    • Thanks mate, my neighbor has exact same ones from Kogan and he reckons its waste of money.
Didn't see any review about that Kogan one on web at all.
So I guess RYOBI or OZITO combo is better deal.

  • Don't waste your money.

The battery lasts 10minutes if you are lucky, the edge trimmer needs special blades you need to buy and they wear out in minutes if you use them on a hard edge.

    It is a toy.

    • You're not talking about the one+ kit are you? I have a couple of 4ah and 1.5ah batteries but even then I find the a large 4ah battery is sufficient for edging a large sized lawn. It takes me 30-45 mins to edge the lawn with some pauses in between to reposition myself/the trimmer, with life left in the battery. Usually down to the last bar on the batt indicator. No special blades required either, just standard nylon line.

      Disagree.
The Ozito line trimmer is a great little package for small jobs. The replacement blades can be bought for $9.98 (Bosch) and the blades, whilst not the longest lasting are easy to change and beat using line (especially for those not hardware inclined). I have had the trimmer for over 1 month, use it 20mins a week and have only needed to charge it once.

      • The edge trimmer will NEVER last 20 minutes on a charge. My parents have owned one for over a year and we have used it maybe 8 or 10 times.

The battery used to last 15minutes now it lasts 7-10.

It is almost completely useless as a edger as the blades wear out in minutes if they hit a hard surface. Not too bad as a grass slasher but it does not last long enough to do any decent work even for a small home.

        It is a toy.

Friends bought the equivalent Bosch unit which takes the same blades (one only though) for twice or more the price of the Ozito and they think that is crap too.

You need to buy the bigger versions with BIG batteries

  • The ryobi one + is much better deal.. my local bunnings had the trimmer blower kit for $169 from memory. And it had a 4amp battery as well. Can't comment on its performance though. Petrol ones are generally better.
