26% off Vietnam 3 Months Multiple Entry Visa-on-Arrival, 1 Person

160
Ozbargainmembers

I emailed the Vietnam Visa agent ‘Evisa’ and asked if they would provide a corporate rate for Ozbargain members. This has been done. The text of his reply is below (Please be kind, & understand that English is not their first language). You need to go to their website and put in the corporate promotion code Ozbargainmembers, and, in correspondence tell the agent your Ozbargain user name.

The corporate promo rate for a 3 month multiple entry visa on arrival(VOA) for 1 person, is $US25.90

The best price alternative that I could find through searching several other VOA agents, is $US29.

For VOA, when you arrive in Vietnam you need to pay Vietnamese Immigration a stamping fee of $US 95 for THIS visa.

A 3 months, Multiple entry visa at the Sydney Vietnamese Consulate will cost $A170 ALL INCLUSIVE.

All of the Agents have are a myriad of prices depending on which visa, and how many people are needing the visa. And so if you are more than one person, or if you need a different type of Visa, then you can still use the Corporate code with this agent, or you may find a better price elsewhere. I have no affiliation with this company.

Thanks again for your email.
And we have created the Promotion code for member follow as :

Warning from Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia: There has been an increase in the number of Australians applying online for a ‘visa on arrival’ approval letter. There have been reports of visa scams involving online Vietnamese visa applications. There have also been reports of applicants’ personal details being made public by online visa websites. As result, we recommend you apply for a Vietnamese visa directly from the nearest Embassy or Consulate of Vietnam.

Even gov.vn domains are scam sites?

Vietnam is basically a friendlier, warmer version of Russia in the 1990's.

      • +2

Yup.. I was equally shocked when I looked at it. But then I clicked on the websites and they were either taken down or were blocked by ip providers.

How do we know if this is a Legit website?

  • Not sure if it's the case with this agent but the ones I dealt with bulk order visas.

When you get your authorisation letter it will contain your Name, DOB, Nationality and Passport # along with the same details for anyone else processed with your order. Basically everyone on the same order has access to your passport info and vice versa.

I wasn't too fussed but something to be mindful of.

    • My impression is that all of the VOA agents do this. They type up a list and take it to Immigration for signature and stamping, and maybe some tea money ;o)

  • I have never used this company, but I intend to in the coming months (that is why I was searching for an agent). But I have used a couple of others that I had previously found online. I did not do a bona fides check on either of them, but luckily I did not have any problems. One of them was http://www.hotels-in-vietnam.com/vietnam/vietnam-visa.html. Some agents will do a VOA for free if you book hotels through them.

    • I just went through my mail - I got my family a single entry visa through My Vietnam Visa in late 2010. Last year I didn't want to deal with the hassle of lining up after a long Air Asia flight, so went through the consulate but the visa on arrival office was still there. Other than the consulate and travel advisory, has anyone found a report of someone being scammed?

Incidentally, be nice to the consulate person and you might get a discount anyway :)

I would definitely not get a visa on arrival for vietnam again. I've done 2x "normal" visas and 1x VOA.

If you can get it in advance from the consulate, its far more worth it. If there is no consulate nearby you can mail it in a self addressed registered mail return envelope to the consulate in Canberra.

The VOA process sucks - you have to wait around in SGN airport in a crummy waiting area for 1hr+ waiting for your name to be called. The only reason to get a VOA is if you have decided to go to Saigon last minute and don't have enough time to get a proper visa.

I had a vastly different experience, used the VOA method 2 times (1 month single and 3 months multi).

Both times I handed in the form at SGN and within 15-20mins my passport was stamped and I was good to go.

VOA was quite a bit cheaper than a normal visa from memory and so easy.

    • Same experience here … wait time in Ho Chi Minh City was around 1:15h. I used one of the websites to get the letter … but otherwise I did it myself at arrival.
Would recommend to get the official visa. But It's a bit risky as you need to send your passport via mail …

    • How much do they charge if you send your passport to Canberra to get a visa?

  • if you're in Sydney, take it in person to Edgecliff
    http://www.vietnamconsulate.org.au/

  • got the 5yr visa waiver which i believe they no longer do coz im married to a citizen of that country. 4yrs to go on that :D

Just go to a Vietnamese Travel Agent - you can get it done for AUD$70-$80! Cheaper, saves hassle. They'll do everything including posting your Passport. And no, you don't even have to buy the plane ticket from them.

Check out your local Viet town:
    - Melbourne: Footscray, Richmond, Springvale, St Albans, Sunshine
    - Sydney: Cabramatta, Bankstown, Fairfield, Liverpool, Wollongong
    - Brisbane: Inala
    - Adelaide
    - Perth

    • Scan and post your passport to 4chan.com please /sarcasm.

    • +1

yeh, when i go to buy ticket from vietnamese agent.it cost me $65 for multi visit 90 day to vietnam in 5 years or $50 for one time visit.

      • if you're already vietnamese and your parents passports states they are born in vietnam, you can apply for a 5 year visa for $70, unlimited entry

      • $A65 for VOA is a bit dearer than $US25.90, and you still need to line up at airport in Vietnam and pay stamping fee.

    • ok… so I get 2 negative votes for helping out with unbiased advice.

Whoever those two people are, try and exercise some Ozbargain spirit. At least explain yourselves. Maybe you're having a bad day… there's hope.

Unless of course you're the reps of the aforementioned dodgy websites… which would make complete sense.

      Peace

  • Have done two single entry visas over the past six years. I recommend Tun Travel (from memory tuntravel.com) who I used both times for what I call the letter of permission to enter the country. very professional.

    • Ah yes, Tun Travel! That's the other one that I used. No problems.

  • Just used this company for the first time. They are by far the best I have used. The process is so easy, and took less than 48 hours for visa.
