  • I've seen same one listed in store for $89 @ TGG, Casula NSW

    • you 100% it wasn't the UE4000? they (UE6000) are typically around $100 on amazon in $US so if it was $89 here in aus that's a very good bargain RRP is around $200. ($199 on TGG website)

      • Dick Smith had them for $89 last week as part of their hour of power sales, still waiting for my order to be fulfilled though

        • Great price!

        • I ordered these after xmas, never turned up, ds lost my order. They then put me on backorder, despite having stock in a store a few hundred km away. After numerous emails and phone calls, finally got my money back by putting in a paypal dispute. DS customer service is horrible at the best of times.

      • +1

I bought UE6000 2 weeks ago from same store, when they were on clearance listed for $99! went back last week to claim another $10, under 30 day price match policy!

        • hehe should have posted it up for us! :)

        • Yerh was $88 last week, still not a bad price for those who missed last weeks deal I guess.

Is the 30 day price match policy only a Dicksmith thing?

        • HTID09: pretty sure Royal9 is referring to TGG 30 day price match policy:

        • Ohh I see, my bad. Thanks for clearing it up

  • I had one of these last year for 2-3 days but ended up returning them to the store. The active noise cancelling (or whatever they are called) caused me a bit of a headache. Apparently some people are sensitive to a particular type of noise cancelling (and I was, unfortunately, one of them). Something to bear in mind if you want to buy.

Having said that, these headphones are one of the better ones I've tried. And one of the best at its price range IMHO. When I bought it, it was $199, so $99 is a very good bargain.

    • Yeah common issue for some people with noise cancellation…i prefer noise isolation personally.

did you try them in passive mode with an external amp? I like the ue6000 better that way than in active nc mode.

  • I bought the UE6000 from the Hour of Power deals last week. Great headphones but beware; the inline cord controls (pause, volume control etc) are only compatible with Apple products. The functionality changes depending on what Android device you have. I have a Desire Z, and pressing one of the buttons twice in succession auto-dials the last person I called in my contact list, and the microphone and volume controls don't work.

    • Agreed, same for Windows Phone. The controls are absolutely useless unless you have an Iphone or its Apple siblings.

Also when you have the amp turned on there is also little static, most noticeable when theres nothing playing. The headphones themselves arent really comfortable compared to my Phillips Citiscape Uptown, the UE 6000 gets hot after a while and although I have rather small ears I find the earcups dont go around your ears completely. Feels more like an on ear pair of headphones rather than over ear

  • Ordered yesterday and shipped today, good stuff. Thanks for posting.

  • UE6000 preferred over ATH M50?
