I was pleasantly surprised when I received a call while at Venice. I thought that it would have cost about $4 per 30 seconds. On the contrary, it was free to my 3 mobile. Similarly, I received a call while I was at Hong Kong. The 30 minutes call was free too. Also all emails were free to receive. You would have heard of the free 10 minutes 3 to 3 calls while in Australia. To receive roaming overseas calls is something else. 3 also has great mobile deals. I have been with 3 since it started several years ago and I am happy to stay. It has very good receptions because when it is out of 3 coverage, it roams to Telstra network.

Affiliate/Referral - Check it out and if you want to join 3, send me your mobile no or email address and I shall send you a referral so that you get $25 credit to your bill. Also signing up on line will get you $50 credit. My email address is [email protected].

If you are thinking of iPhone, iPhone is coming to 3 in July. You can register with 3 to get notification as soon as it arrives.

Mod - corrected title and description.

  • If this is real it's about bloody time!
I can't believe Vodafone, Virgin, Optus and 3 haven't been leveraging their international networks to steal more marketshare from Telstra.. Telstra have great coverage in Aus but OS they have none (with the exception possibly of NZ)!

uabud, you must remove the referral section, or have the post removed by moderators.. Three do not permit the sending of referrals through Ozbargain and have been known in the past to deny moneyback and referrals to Ozbargain users.

OzBargain's Three Australia wiki states not to post referrer codes. uabud's mention of referral will be allowed to remain, pending further guidance, although anyone pursuing a referral should be aware of the risks as suggested by scubacoles.

      • HueyData, I am unable to remove the referral section. I tried but the site would not let me submit the updated post.

        • uabud, as stated, the mention of referral may remain as long as actual referrer codes are not posted. However, the section can be removed if you prefer.

    • It is real. Some people would only go with Telstra because of their wide coverage. I always get roamed to Telstra when I am out of 3's coverage. I have used various networks : Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, Virgin, and some that I can't even remember. There must be good reasons I stay with 3.

  • misleading heading.. its not free in all the overseas countries. Change it to select overseas countries or name the countries.

  • This is not new is it? When I was over in Hong Kong two years ago it was free already.

And it's not $50 credit on all online orders.

Also the free 10mins to other three users is only for VERY VERY old plans. The new caps have 200mins or so unlimited.

Don't think this is a deal. More like advertising and spam.

    • True this is not new. However, not everyone is aware of its existence. Many 3 users that I talked to were amazed when I told them about it. I don't expect anything introduced here to be new to everyone. There are people who are better informed than others. Consider yourself clever. I have just ordered 2 plans online in the last week and I got $50 credit for them both. I am aware that the new caps have untimed free minutes as long as you don't exceed your allowance. I am proud to have owned the Very Very old plan. I have unlimited free minutes, not just 200 or 500 mins. The best advertising is word of mouth. Companies need customers to spread good words about them. I would not do the same for some companies.

  • lol, i would not consider this a bargain

  • This has been around for YEARS. Also, not free in all countries, only ones with a "Three" network.
    This isn't a bargain.

    • Agreed.

    • As I said "3 like home countries"!!! Do you know any other mobile companies that offer free calls in any countries? If you do, introduce them here so people can make their own judgement.
