Hey Rep, Just wanted to say hey!

as much as its nice for a rep to make instant replies, maybe giving them at least 24 hours to reply is appropriate?

Appears to be 1 per order only since discount code only works for first added to cart. I wanted 4 but code only reduces total cost by $27 :/

    • Yup, not $28.85 each after all, it's just a $27 discount off your order.

  • REP/OP,

When you get back, please advise if the 240v cable and plug, and the transformer (power supply), are all Safety Certified and legal for use in Australia.

    • are all Safety Certified and legal for use in Australia.

its been a while since ive been involved with ctick stuff etc… but im pretty sure if your "importing" it its your responsibility to ensure it complies?

happy for you to send some links proving me wrong. ill have a better look for supporting links 2morrow. :D

      • its been a while since ive been involved with ctick stuff etc… but im pretty sure if your "importing" it its your responsibility to ensure it complies?

Of course it is the importer who is responsible for making sure that any item is compliant to Australian safety standards. Also any installer should not install non-compliant items. Home owners insurance could refuse to pay-out if non-compliant items were shown to have caused injury, death, and/or damage.

However, this seller has previously stated that their items are all legal, and safe, to import to, and install in, Australia. Without subsequently showing any proof that this was a true statement.

"yes , no problem for australia .is a legal to sell and install in australia"

        • sorry….. as i said in the other post…. its late and im going to be brief….. but……

Of course it is the importer who is responsible for making sure that any item is compliant to Australian safety standards.

when you buy from an asian seller in china…… isnt it YOU that is the importer? which means thats its up to YOU?

when you buy from an asian seller in china…… isnt it YOU that is the importer? which means thats its up to YOU?

Again, of course. It is up to you to comply with Australia's Laws and Legislation, and Customs regulations.

The risks involved are increased if/when the Chinese supplier/seller lies about compliance to Australian Safety Standards.

  • Rep,

Are these digitally addressable? In that with a micro-controller could you control each LED individually?

    Thanks.

    • +1

I think that is for a Non-Waterproof version, Rep is supplying a Waterproof strip.

      • Ok, good spot. Waterproof ones are a few $ more. I found 5630 leds are more brighter than these 5050.

  • has anyone here tries to install the automatic stair lighting in their house?

I'm looking to install one when my house is built.

  • If me want to tries to cut them be they can to shorter length?

    • +1

      yep

      http://www.myled.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/114…

its kinda hard to see, but right in the middle of that pic you can make out theres a line going across with the picture of scissors on it. thats where you cut them if you want them shorter. i dont think you can then use the offcut again tho but im not to sure on that.

      • I'm sure you can use the off cut again you would just need to solder/clip a new connector to the end.
With the waterproof led strips you also need to strip the protective coating from the contacts after cutting the strip.

        • you also need to strip the protective coating from the contacts after cutting the strip.

yea im not sure how you would get the protective coating off the contacts to be able to solder back to it, not that ive actually tried.

I think you can just use a Stanley knife or a blade like in this video.
