River Pebbles $10 for 20kg Bag at Masters

180

These are very cheap at $10 a bag, I think the normal price is $29 a bag. Its listed as a catalogue offer so should be plenty of stock around. The closest thing I can find at Bunnings is $21 for a 10kg bag. http://www.bunnings.com.au/tuscan-path-10kg-polished-white-d…

My local masters has black and white (which is actually a sandy type colour).

I bought 11 bags and filled a garden bed, shouldn't need to mulch there again ever.

Go to a landscape suppliers, be about $10 a metre.

    • I don't think a metre of pebbles is 20kg. Maybe it's some crazy imperial conversion I missed.

  • My local garden supplies sell +/- $110 exc delivery for a m3. Not sure it is cheaper than this deal??

Well a cubic meter is 1000L so given that a 20kg bag might be around 10L, you would need 100 bags to make a cubic meter. So this price is (very approximately) $1000 a cubic meter.

      • is m3 a cubic meter?

          is m3 a cubic meter?

No, it is a cubic metre

      • 1kg of most fluid = 1Ltr of fluid.

    • do you have a contact number, i need some as well.

        Most landscape/garden shops sell rocks!
I've probably bought about 12-15 metres from Supersoil in Ferntree Gully over the years!

        • Thanks mate.

Pebbles are sold by tonnage. Wood chips mulches etc are sold by m3.

Similar to this type pebbles (napean/ hawkesbury river pebbles) are normally around $100/tonne.

Op bought 200 kg for $100 whereas landscape suppliers sell 1000kg for $100. I can't see a bargain.

check out Soilworx, their pebbles are heaps better and always at $9.95/20kg or $144/m3

  • I need to cover an area of 2 square meters, anyone know how many bags do I need?

  • Let's do some basic mates here. If u need to cover 2 m2. First need to work out how thick you want the stone layer to be. About an inch maybe 2. So roughly 9-15 bags, no more

  • shouldn't need to mulch there again ever.

Good Luck! Didn't work for me.

  • Paying $10 for pebbles? Are you having a laugh? They're free everywhere.

$10 / 20kg bag for polished river pebbles (white or black) is the special going rate at Masters every now and then it seems, and yes this is very cheap if you compare the exact same river pebbles against other suppliers. Particularly the black one, as the "white" one's are really white.. (see my note below).

You can only buy these from China and they come in 10kg/20kg bags basically…

The Masters white polished pebbles aren't really white, their more offcolor/random color. If you like that color scheme better off buying from Soil shops /etc as a lot of local pebbles match this.

Otherwise if your looking for actual-white polished pebbles you would have to hit up waldecks/landscaping shop that imports the higher grade ones.

The black polished pebbles at Masters aren't too bad, I think their probably B Grade, as in their typically black, but not perfect. The "perfect" white/black polished pebbles are $$$, you'll probably notice them in the little 2kg bags at Masters/Bunnings fetching a small penny.

Learnt all this whilst doing landscaping on my new house lol…
Must of bought at least 1 ton of Masters Medium Sized Black Polished Pebbles and 300kg of Waldecks Near-Perfect-White Small Polished Pebbles…
