Missed this at $39 around December, ended up with the N750. Impressed with the wifi for the price and has a 3 year warranty.

This is not a modem, only router with a cooling fan in it :)

    Can anyone confirm whether it supports PPoE connection? I am with Telstra Velocity Network.

      This is a router/AP only, it is not a modem (so doesn't support PPoE).

        Routers do support PPPoE, e.g. with a modem in bridge mode.

    using it has an AP

    2.4 is ok range and speed

    5 is not so good range and ok speed

    the problem i have with it is that it is rather 'bursty'

    you get good speed, then a few secs of nothing then speed again

    sometimes the thing dies completely and needs a hard reset

    latest firmware, but wd have orphaned these so no more support

    i use intel cards

        for $29 think of it as a GBe switch with spotty wireless capability

    Cooling fan in a home grade router = no good (dusty environment -> fan will probably die first)

    Very mixed reviews on Amazon.

      Fan rarely comes on so I dont think this is a negative
      BUT - DO NOT BUY IF YOU expect to use a xbox 360. It locks the xbox box up continually!

    Been using one as an AP with WPA2-Enterprise for close to 12 months.

    For the price, it's great. It's hard to find another AP that supports WPA2-Enterprise in this price range.

    It does have a lock up problem and Wifi will go off. A quick power cycle will resolve it. In average, this happens every 6-8 weeks.

      Yes, it does, in fact, there is no way to config the HDD to "always on"
