"Free standard shipping to Australia metropolitan areas"

      • +1

Right, I didn't see the drop down menu, thanks

    • Yeah comes to $444.00 with shipping for me, Eglobal comes to $441 with shipping, but if you can save shipping this deal is better than Eglobal. That being said you still probably better buying local stock if that $50 cashback is still going and you can haggle a good price in store.

  • 16GB Nexus 5 is $399 with $20 shipping. This is great!

    • +3

      Exactly. AOSP + LG G2 = SuperNexus

        Network Band 4G/LTE 1800

so LTE even for telstra… nice…

        the only deal breaker:
        Expandable Memory No
why is this better than a nexus? its only 20 bux cheaper than the n5 32GB - but has a slower core, no kitkat out of the box and probably wont get updates as quick no?

if it had expandable storage id be all over it…

        • It does have LTE.

        • No free shipping with Google Play?

        • +1

Nexus 5 32GB is $449 + $20 shipping from play store. So $40 more for what most regard as lesser specs, especially camera and battery.

        • +2

Yeah I'd rather this over a nexus 5 since its cheaper and I would be willing to put up with the minor inconvenience of rooting and installing a custom rom.

Yeah and the specs are better on the G2, but my feeling is, it won't be too long till n5 drops $100. Well one can hope, but until then, the G2 is the way to go. :)

Other options in near future could also be the oneplus one, but then that could be a pipe dream too. :P

        • +1

G2 has a better camera than the N5. OnePlus One would be a dream but Australia is not even part of the initial shipment and to get into that limited shipment you need an invite into the secret society so two strikes against us =(

  • Great phone….had mine for 5 months now, needless to say I paid much more than $429! Amazingly fast, with unbelievable screen…..much better than OLED screen from samsung (been there, done that!)

Bought one last week from The Good Guys.

    Best phone ever.

Upgraded from iPhone 5. Got a new iPhone 5 under warranty. Sold that to some sucker for $650.
    Spent $510 - $50 - $50 - $50 = $360 for a 32GB G2.

    • how to get 150 discount?
you so lucky for sold the phone for $650 , i just sold one refurbish from apple for $440 only, 16 gb

      • His iPhone was brand new hence why he got top dollar for it.

    • which good guys did you buy from? I assume you got the 32gb model for $510?

where did the extra $50 discount come from? I assume you got the amex 50, LG 50 but not sure what that additional $50 is.

  • Is this the one with a good battery life?

    • +2

      Yes

    • And how. I sometimes forget to charge mine, and use it a lot. Best phone ever.

    • Nexus 5 is sadly lacking in battery, only lasts a day or less with brightness all the way down. They are supposedly fixing a battery drain issue caused by the camera continually drawing power even when it's turned off in the next update which is imminent though.

  • There is a coupon code for an extra $10 discount: BAE2013

Why buy this when you can price match TGG with Allphone's $499 price + $50 cash back from LG? Australian Stock, B&M store warranty vs Grey import…

If you choose to risk dealing with DWI be sure to use either paypal or credit card, NEVER bank transfer because if you end up needing a refund they won't be very forthcoming with it.

I was promised a refund "Today" for weeks, and when I finally resorted to escalating a paypal claim they had the hide to tell paypal they hadnt received the phone back from me. Fortunately I had an earlier email from them stating that they had.

Try ur luck at JB HiFi - I paid $510 for a 32GB model.
It comes with 2 years local warranty plus bonus smart cover (at least for white variant)

    Paid $510
    Minus $50 LG cashback
    Minus ~$46 from TRS
Minus $40 JB bonus gift cards from MC promotion & coke rewards
    Minus $17.50 from ING cashback

So eventually it cost me approx $356.5 for a local stock.
    Thank You OZB :)

    • they let you make 4 or 5 credit card payments?

      • +2

        Yes - I asked nicely :)

4 ING transactions + 3 counts of gift card = total 7 split transactions
My tax invoice is approx 1 metre long :)

    • +1

Nice work Bappy, any chance of you being able to upload the receipt showing the price of $510? I wouldn't mind trying this at my local JB.

      • +1

        Hi Bernie_G
Sorry my invoice is so long that I can't fit the whole in my scanner (7 split payments)

However I used the below invoice to price match. It was uploaded by lachyzee in the previous G2 post (thanks heaps lachyzee)

Good guys (rockdale) won't price match our beat JB so best try your luck at JB instead

    • You are right - I tried various Good Guys to maximise the AMEX offer - but failed :(
And the first JB I tried - it worked
Plus all the Good Guys I checked, they didn't had paypass option… so no ING cashback

      JB - You've done it again :P

  • I missed out on the Amex registration deal, so am interested in the LG G2 in Sydney, then get the $50 LG gift/debit card.

Is $510 the best negotiated 32Gb G2 price right now? Should I check here or on WP forums for the latest info?

    Thanks!

I'd prefer to get the cashback and have local warranty, but this deal is OK if you cant get the same price locally, I guess - but it's not much difference at all; $460 ($510-$50 gift card) v $440 grey import delivered.

[Edited since I'm after the 32Gb not the 16Gb model: surely the extra space is worth it for most people]

  • A day after a full charge + Kit Kat, 38 hour total battery time and 4.5 hours screen time, 7%. Pretty good.

  • +5

Kit Kat 4.4.2 was pushed out OTA to unlocked LG G2 devices just last night…

    Definitely a worthwhile device.

    • Thanks for letting us know about KitKat update

    • +3

Yes but don't update it unless you don't mind the headphone hiss issue! This bug was introduced with the update.

      • That's the problem, I thought there was something wrong with my headphone with the hiss noise after the update.:(

        • No issues with my bluetooth headset here and Kitkat.

  • great price. I only just paid $550 at Jbhifi for a 32GB.

I'm a fan of LG phones, and I've had the 4X, G, and now G Pro.

In my opinion, you can't beat the screens for natural colour (I'm a graphic designer and photographer) and the processor/ram in the G Pro never skip a beat, it's a truly fast phone.

They're available on Aliexpress for around US$260 these days if you're in the market for an excellent 5.5" 1080p phone. The G Pro F240 is the Korean model but the 4G bands work fine here (I'm on Vodafone in Sydney).

I have an excellent Kit Kat custom rom on my phone, and can easily get two full days. Plus, the Korean models come with a second battery too.

Couldn't be happier, and at these prices I think it's pretty hard to beat if you don't mind flashing roms and skipping local warranty.

    http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?SearchText=lg+optimus+g+…

    • what rom are you using?

      • It's a little old now but I think it is this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2462453

Kit Kat was released officially by LG a little while ago, so there are now lots of new custom roms - stock variants as well as CM11.

I've been running mine for about 4 months now as the battery life was like nothing I've ever seen before on an Android phone. Super fast and silky smooth.

I'm sure there are newer better ones around now, but I haven't looked lately as this has been perfect for my needs and I have the Android/Nexus feel.

    • +1

Also worth mentioning you can stick a 64Gb card in this phone for around $50 and you've got 96Gb storage and a massive screen to enjoy it on.

      • Kogan now have this at $449 + delivery

        • +1

          But. its kogan.

    • Why is the F240 so much cheaper with pretty similar specs except with a bigger screen and an sd card expansion slot?

      • Maybe this:

        Item Condition: Refurbished

        • Hmmm, must admit I didnt see that part. Seems most are labeled as refurb but some in the $330 range arent…

        • Well was actually looking at the USD$299 listing since that one is in new condition, but yeah also noticed that it has a lower clocked quad core and the 5.5" is probably a bit big for most people vs 5.2". But in the end it's only about ~$130 cheaper than the G2 so not as puzzling as I thought.

  • Good price.. :) just remember 2% paypal/credit card surcharge.

  • Just wondering whether this purchase is eligible under Tourist Refund Scheme? http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page4263.asp

    • +1

      No GST, so no.

  • Ordered last night. Expected it to have been shipped by now. Hurry up DWI! I want my G2!

I used to dislike LG phone, however with LG G2, despite the fact that I have used so many other flagship android phone (htc one & Samsung galaxy s4 & galaxy note 2 & 3) and iPhone 5, considering price and everything else, I can say from my opinion, this is THE BEST smart phone I have ever used and g2 is probably the most underrated phone.

My previous phone is htc one (m7) and I thought that phone packed with abundant power and speed for a non gaming user like myself. However, with this G2, everything just runs biblical fast.

The battery life is absolutely epic. I had a galaxy note 2 once and I know what a good long lasting battery life was like. However, this phone's battery life is even far better than that. Especially after the kitkat update, after 6 hours of light usage with music playing for 3 hours straight, I still get 80% left! This is the first smart phone I am comfortable with not charging it overnight.

At this price, it's absolutely bargain…

  • Got one the other week. I love it except for the camera, seems to be pretty average.

    • whats wrong with the camera?

    • trying viewing the images on a computer screen, they do come up nicely.

  • BEST phone ever …

    170h on my battery

  • I verified with store that the deal is only for black and white. I was after the red, now I'm not sure…

  • Would anyone be able to provide step-by-step instructions to install a custom ROM on this? I've went through the threads on XDA but all the instructions seem to be all over the place and difficult to understand.

    • Go XDA or Youtube it.

  • So… I'm looking at this.. eglobal and dwi works out to be similar in price for the gold version after coupon codes (439 vs 435).. which of these vendors are more reputable/safe?

    • +1

They're actually run by the same parent company. I've bought from eglobal and they were reliable in that instance.

  • Ordered Tuesday night. Shipped Wednesday. Received today. Great phone!
