He was probably saying the retina version should be priced at $349.

        • Yeah i meant retina and future iPad Minis from now on. $349 for 16GB 8" or so tablets should be the price points they target and $200-300 for 7"

Yep, let's wait till you become the CEO. :P

Sorry if I missed it but where does it say Australian stock?

    • -1

      12 Month Manufacturer Warranty

      • Correct me if I'm wrong, but Australian stock should be 2 years warranty right?

        • Oz iPads have a one year warranty and an implied extra year statutory warranty,

        • May be if you got it from a Telco on a plan, but my Apple iPad mini warranty card reads as follows: "Apple warrants the included hardware product and accessories against defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date of the original retail purchase."

        • It doesn't matter what they put in their T&C's they can't stop you exercising your statutory warranty rights. Basically the Apple products are "quality" products which imply a longer than 12 month warranty. Apple knows this but tries to fob off customers with their T&Cs.

          I just found this:
          https://www.apple.com/au/legal/statutory-warranty/

Which outlines 24 month warranty and for some products this is even longer.

I think all iPad deal are imported from Hong Kong so COTD can keep lower price than others.

Hardly Normal had the IPad 4 Retina 16Gb WiFi for $392 in the Courier Mail (Queensland) Sunday. Seems like a better deal. There's no substitute for extra inches :-) No time limit mentioned but it does say 'not all stores, ring and check'.

    • Are you sure it was retina?? I remember seeing the ad and didnt remember reading retina nor air.

      • 4th gen fullsize

      • It was indeed iPad 4 with retina and you could also see the price online until this morning - it's back up to $449 online now, no idea about in store.

  • Do they give invoice with GST? Can u claim TRS at the airport?

    • Yes, you can download the invoice within your account. It will have all their details, including ABN, the details of what you have purchased and the GST component. Yes, you will be able to claim TRS at the airport.

  • Has anyone managed to buy the Scoopon code for this? I tried to buy but no confirmation or nothing came back. And its only 5:15pm and their web page said thia deal is no longer available.

Yes, got mine. Makes this an incredibly cheap ipad considereing I get free shipping too.

      • Wow… how did u get free shipping?

        • From this deal …

Paying $79 in advance does not make anything "free".

        • -1

Does the same apply when some one posts a free IOS/Android deal? They are not really free when people have had to pay hundreds of dollars on hardware to utilise the App.
