  • How about this one ? - Nokia Lumia 625 - $188 Delivered

EDIT: $24 express postage(2-5 days), probably HK stock…

    • Horrible reviews for that website, that price doesn't including shipping (extra $24), and it's grey stock

      • Yea, I just read the reviews, most of the recent ones suggest that support is slow and hasn't improved, probably few people managing it considering the prices they offer. However, goods seem to be delivered on time and work…

The rep seems to be quite active there, last reply was May 16, 2014.

Apparently they're under new management, and admittedly the later reviews are getting better.

Still, I wouldn't risk it with warranty. An extra $30 for Oz stock and a more reputable seller is well worth it IMO

        • Tru Dat.

Keep in mind, the Nokia Lumia 630 is being released a week from today for $249 outright.

Just to note however, it is NOT a direct successor to the Lumia 625.

    Key differences:

    Lumia 630 vs Lumia 625

    4.5" vs 4.7" screen
Quad core 1.2Ghz A7 vs. Dual core 1.2Ghz Krait
Win 8.1 vs. Win 8 Black
No front facing camera vs. VGA front camera

    Complete comparison here

No front facing camera ?, selfie dead already ? O.o

      • only good for reverse selfies perhaps?

    • Can Win 8.1 be installed on the 625?

      • Yes (already running it). All Windows Phone 8 handsets will be upgraded to 8.1.

630 is the 3G version. Correct comparison would be the Lumia 635 - the 5 denotes the $50-100 more expensive 4G variant.

      • Righttt, my bad.

Nokia really does have confusing numbering schemes- meanwhile the Lumia 620 and 625 are completely different phones.

    • 630 also has no flash

    • Some other features the 625 has over the 630 include hardware buttons (630 has onscreen buttons), a proximity sensor and ambient light sensor (630 lacks both).

The 630 is a cheaper phone which is why it misses some of these features. The Gizmodo article says it will be $179 on Vodafone prepaid - significantly lower than the average sale price for the 625.

am i correct in thinking that an 800 x 480 screen is poor for a $200 phone?

    • The upside is better battery life. And it shows, this phone is supposed to last 2 days as opposed to a single day on most other Android phones.

We push our devices the same way in our reviews, with general use, social networking, speed tests, media playback, phone calls, messaging, and app usage, and in the Lumia 625, we saw two days of usage without any problems. In fact, if you didn’t use your device as often as we did, you could probably even manage a third day, as by the time we decided to call it a day with our model, we still had 30 percent left, which could have easily lasted into the next day.

That’s impressive, and probably stems from the low-end screen requiring less power from the massive 2000mAh battery that it and the Lumia 920/925 share.

We have one of these phones and tbh it uses the 800x480 very well - it's nicer to use than my Galaxy Nexus.

It's worth mentioning the Lumia 625 is also eligible for $40 of Store/Music/Video credit from Microsoft/Nokia. As posted here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/142806

  • by the way - why are they apologising?
